Mole Cottage is a detached, thatched cottage built in 1927, which has been thoughtfully furnished to provide a sense of comfort. Situated in the rural, picturesque village of Luccombe, the property boasts sea views overlooking the English Channel. The cottage offers a well-equipped kitchen, living/dining area and three spacious bedrooms, one with an en-suite, making Mole Cottage a perfect home from home. Patio doors from the living room lead out to the enclosed garden, allowing you to enjoy a family barbecue in the summer months.
Located part way between the two popular tourist towns of Shanklin and Ventnor, Mole Cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding areas. Shanklin is one of the most well-known resorts on the island, and is only a 10-minute drive away. Why not visit the high street shops and craft shops in the centre, or, if you are after a change of pace, take a stroll to the Old Village, with its thatched cottages, period pubs and tea rooms. Close to the town, separated by a cliff and steep roads, you can find the beach. There is a lift available along the cliff path, which takes you straight down to the centre of the esplanade, filled with amusements, crazy golf, cafés, pubs, restaurants and of course numerous places to get ice cream!
Travel 10 minutes from the property in the other direction and you will reach Ventnor, with lovely Victorian architecture, shingle beach and promenade. For keen walkers, you can find coastal walks in either direction, so you can take in the rugged coastline that Ventnor offers.
If you want to explore more of the island, the 65-mile coastal path, which follows the coastline all the way round the island, might be a good place to start. Close by, you can also find the Isle of Wight Visitors Centre, St. Boniface Church, the Rew Down Local Nature Reserve and St. Boniface Down, which is the highest point on the Isle of Wight. There is also a selection of golf courses, tennis courts, children’s areas and the Botanic Gardens, which is fun for all the family. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
