Loved the cottage, the bed was enormous and very comfortable. but being on a main road was noisy at night time, no double glazing wasn’t good.

Cottage was lovely, right on the main road though, nice walk into town down the stream avoiding the main road, parking was the issue although we had a parking ticket for the cottage we couldn't park the car anywhere after we had gone out for the day(arrived back on one day at two pm,had to ask permission from the vets around the corner if we could park overnight there).Shame.

A lovely, very well presented, cosy cottage ideal for two, well equipped with pleasant lounge, delightful bedroom with comfortable, (huge) bed, and excellent bathroom. Close to the town centre and all its amenities; on the main road to Buxton so expect some traffic noise. One of the loveliest little cottages we have stayed at. Surprise cake welcome was very welcome and a very thoughtful gesture. We had no problems parking but could be if busy.

The cottage is well designed, equipped and most comfortable. It is however 'cosy' (small) and has two problems I had not fully appreciated. First it is right on the busy A6 with no frontage garden. Second parking overnight was a problem occasionally; but spaces became available first thing so this not a big problem once understood.

Lovely cottage, nice and warm, parking sometimes a problem if other residents have parked in the few residents bay that were available, good to have a parking permit available. Could do with a few more shelves and hooks (coats) . Very nice shower good water heat and pressure. Using bathroom sink is a pain in the neck, tall people have to lean to the left, similar problem with toilet. In saying this it did not cause any problems, a nice well converted cottage. Lovely large bedroom and great sized bed. Overall VERY GOOD, would recommend this cottage.

A super base for exploring bakewell and beyond. A cosy and comfortable cottage finished to a very high standard. Parking is a little tight if you have a larger car but we did always manage to find a space.

Beautiful cozy and warm cottage, Ideally located for walking, shopping in the lovely town of Bakewell, and only a few minutes drive from Chatsworth House. The cottage has all the essential items in the kitchen, and the oven etc were all very clean and quite new. The bed is very comfortable and large, the bathroom has a lovely large shower, and as pointed out by several previous guests, has a steep sloping ceiling. However, we found this to be a fun quirk, yes you need to be aware, but after bumping your head a couple of times, you remember. Also the stairs are quite steep, but if these are features you don't like, it's probably best not to stay in an old cottage. The supplied parking permit was much appreciated, although parking in the road behind the cottage was a bit challenging. However it's only 3 minutes walk into town. We needed to contact Lucy the owner while we were there, and she responded to our text, with a return call after just a few minutes. We really hope that we will be able to return to Mill Race Cottage again soon, and for a longer visit.

Cosy small beautifully furnished cottage. Shower was excellent and powerful. Yes cottage is on main road and we are not used to traffic where we live but did not find it a problem - ear plugs work wonders and we both slept really well. Walked along main road into town but there is an even quicker way along the side of the mill stream. We had a problem with TV first night and were desperate to watch Masterchef Final later but, following a phone call to the owner, Lucy, she came straight away and sorted it out. Only 3 teaspoons though and that is worst thing I can say about the cottage!
