We had a great Holiday as the weather was good and hot. The cottage however was damp on arrival, we opened all the windows to air, the outside wasn't cared for, outdoor table rusty and and the seating place dirty.

This is a 3 star cottage and for that it’s pretty good value for money. The beds are clean and comfy, the kitchen well stocked, the sofas squidgy. The tv works and the wood burner is bliss. It’s a very old cottage - for an international visitor you would be staying in a piece of English history- but don’t come her expecting the ritz. It’s damp and the ceilings are low. It’s well situated in the center of Dorset for lots of attractions. We visited Dorchester, Weymouth, Portland bill, Corfe Castle, studland bay, charmouth, Lyme Regis, Yeovil, all under an hr. the actual village is stunning too, the house situated opposite the old manor house.

We enjoyed our time at Mill Cottage, it had lots of character and the location was perfect for visiting our family who live in Dorchester. Mill Cottage meet all of our parties needs and we had a comfortable stay. Guy was very welcoming and helpful. The only downside was that the garden was not secure for dogs, but this would not stop us returning. Overall Mill Cottage was warm and cosy a delightful place to spend time with your family and we will be returning in the very near future.

I think this cottage is probably perfect for couples but not for young children, mainly because you are holidaying within resdential homes so we felt we had to keep the children quiet (two boys 7 and 5 is not easy). It was very damp but I'd say that's more to do with the age of the property. The garden could do with a larger patio area simply because it was difficult to sit five around a table without sinking in the grass. Hence why I think this is better for couples. Having said all this Guy was more than helpful and the location gave us opportunity to visit many places by car.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments, we do certainly welcome families to stay with us and we are sorry you felt the property was damp, we have checked this out and it’s not damp.
