Tucked away in a courtyard setting this holiday cottage is just a short stroll from the centre of the village and is ideally placed for walking direct from the door, with both easy riverside walks and more demanding hill walking being readily available. The bustling market town of Skipton is just 10 minutes drive and offers a wealth of things to see and do with boat trips on the canal, pitch and putt, markets, shops and a swimming pool. It also boasts a fine Norman castle which stands proudly at the top of the town and overlooks what was voted Best High Street in England 2009. Shop and pub 250 yards, restaurant 800 yards.

    This was our second visit to Mickle Hill Mews, we stayed about 3 years ago. The house is lovely and we would stay there again. However we feel that a couple of things people are putting in the visitors book are not being addressed. There are no blinds at the bathroom windows, and only blinds at the bedroom windows. When it gets light early this wakes you up. Also we found the downstairs bed too hard, someone else had mentioned this. It's hard to please everyone, but the blinds issue is mentioned quite a lot in the visitors book.

    We had a lovely week and the cottage was clean and welcoming. It would have been better had we had contact with the caretaker prior and on arrival. Very much fend for oneself so not ideal.

    The cottage was very clean and comfortable and homely and just right for 2 couples with both bedrooms having ensuite bathrooms. There was a definite lack of some equipment within the kitchen. There was no jug, measuring or otherwise, and whilst there were drinking glasses of a kind many of these were cocktail glasses. There were none suitable for our breakfast orange juice..in fact we went out and bought some plastic beakers to drink this from! Small tumblers would have been great as they could have been used for orange juice and later in the day whisky or gin!! Nothing suitable in the cupboard for these either! A glass or mug in the bathrooms for toothbrushes would also have been useful.

    I have no hesitation in awarding this property a full 10. It has been one of the most comfortable properties we have rented. As most of the accomadation is on the first floor we likened it to a luxury apppartment. The rooms are spacious and well lit and the soft furnishings are of the highest order.The bedrooms have masses of storage space and the beds the most comfortable we have slept in.To have two luxury bathrooms en suite was the icing on the cake.Both are spacious, bright and have excellent fittings with marvelous invigorating showers. The décor throughout is bright and spotless. The photograph of the outside does not do it justice and perhaps would put off people who would want a garden overlooking open countryside,but don't be put off.You are minutes away from the river and canal and open fields. The village has great pubs and an array of small shops for most of your needs. We chose this property for its central location as we spend most of our holiday touring,we managed to see most of the south west of Yorkshire in a week,even did the Settle Carlisle rail trip which is one off of our bucket list. If you read the comments in the guests book, some return 4,5 and 6 times.I can understand why.
