Electric heating via a meter: An initial £5 electricity supply is included, bed linen and towel packs are available at £12.00 per double bed, and £8.00 for a single bed. Fast unlimited Broadband is included via EE. Travel cot and highchair available. Two dogs are welcome at no additional cost.
Raised decking with patio furniture, large picnic table at ground level. There is a children’s play area and mini golf (shared with other properties). The unheated swimming pool is shared with other properties on-site. It is: 30m x 15m, depth 1.2 - 1.6m (open May to 1st September). Private parking for 2 cars. No drugs or smoking. No vaping in the property.
Merlin’s Cabin is a sizeable, well maintained and presented 3 bedroom property. The park environment is unique. It affords visitors a high degree of privacy because of its layout and location on the Holiday Park; it is a special place to stay.
The owner has retained the original Scandinavian wood interior. It is well equipped and presumes visitors intend to fully self-cater. The cabin benefits from a dedicated full-sized kitchen, and full-size bathroom with bath, & a shower over the bath. The quality oak Parker Knoll dining table comfortably seats 6 and extends for a larger group if required.
The owner provides a generous starter pack of tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil, a selection of herbs and spices, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, toilet roll, bubble bath and shower gel for each booked night.
For the colder months the owner also provides heated under blankets for all beds.
Outside, the raised deck catches the morning sun, and once leaves have fallen from the trees, and in early Spring, gives lovely views of the hills beyond. At night turn on the twinkling lights and watch the bats. In the morning listen to birdsong. It is secured by a gate. On the lower deck is a bench table, and BBQ.
The Park owner’s provider a seasonal bottle bar and ‘pizza in a box’. It is all very low key. Opening times will be confirmed before arrival.
Merlin’s Cabin is 1 mile from the village of Cenarth, with a supermarket, historic waterfalls, and the river Teifi. There are also three good eateries / pubs within 1-mile which provide good food.
Within a 15 minute drive is the town of Cardigan, with its historic castle, and river walks. Within 10 minutes is Newcastle Emlyn. A small market town which has all one needs in terms of local butchers, supermarket, and several cafe’s. If the weather is not super special, the swimming pool in Newcastle Emlyn is worth checking out.
Within easy reach of the cabin are great roads for cycling, six beaches, a farm that makes its own cheese, and the Pembrokeshire Coast path is 7.5 miles away. The Welsh Wildlife Centre (15 minutes), Llys y Fran Lake and activity centre (40 minutes), the Dolphin watching in Cardigan Bay (35 minutes) are also nearby. The area and what it has to offer makes Merlin’s Cabin an excellent holiday base for families, walkers and cyclists.
