Stay in this truly unique converted windmill, with a third floor balcony overlooking the countryside.

Situated in a quiet, rural part of Anglesey, this cluster of detached holiday properties are located at Melin Newydd windmill, which has been featured on Channel 4’s ’Restoration Man’ with George Clarke. The Windmill (ref 29567) has a lovely living area on the ground floor and a double bedroom on each of the first and second floors, from where a steep, space saver staircase leads up to a third floor living room with a balcony and fabulous views out over the surrounding countryside. Full of original features oozing character, The Windmill has been the subject of a simply stunning restoration, which makes this a cosy and quirky place to stay. Owl Cottage (ref 29569) features a conservatory living room, with picture windows opening to the fields, and two gallery bedrooms, whilst The Top Barn (ref 29568) is another barn conversion with lots of original features. These three properties are just a 10-minute drive from the delightful sandy beach at Rhosneigr - indeed, with 125 miles of coastline on the Isle of Anglesey you’re never far away from a beach or rocky cove to explore. A short distance away is the RSPB reserve at South Stack near Holyhead, whilst children will love Foel Farm Park or Anglesey Sea Zoo at Brynsiencyn. The NT mansion of Plas Newydd is well worth a visit, as is pretty Beaumaris with its castle, whilst the mountains of Snowdonia can be easily reached back on the mainland. Beach 5 miles. Shop and pub 3 miles, restaurant 5 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with slate floor. Open-tread, spiral stairs to first floor: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. Open-tread, spiral stairs to second floor: 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet, and steep paddle stairs to third floor: Second living room.

An amazing renovation If your looking for a relaxing holiday then you can’t get much better. The Windmill has been renovated to a very good standard and has everything you need. It is in a quite location away from main roads, but you are only a short drive away from some very nice places. Lots to see and do in Anglesey. We would definitely use the Windmill again should we go back Darren and Adele Manchester

A perfect getaway in a quiet peaceful part of the world. Well kept, well equipped and kept us safe and warm during 2 storms in a week. Very quirky design and ideal for anybody who wants something different. No wifi was no issue, we found you could get between 2g, 3g and 4g depending what floor of the windmill you were on. Washing machine and dishwasher provided with dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, shower supplies and even a jigsaw and dvds for when the storms really kicked off- yet no basic ingredients like oil and salt. Central heating and fan heaters kept the place warm but we could not figure out how to turn on the bathroom radiators dispite trying the numerous unlabelled switches. As the one labelled “towel radiator” did not work. Biggest let down; the deafening fire alarm set off in the middle of the night, the basic controls did not work, there was no screwdriver to follow the secondary “if that didn’t work” instructions. No reply to the calls, voicemails and texts sent to the emergancy contact. We solved the problem by turning the entire windmills power off at the fuse box. This was fortunate and helped us on the 2 other nights it went off and is our advise for anybody else who gets stuck with this awful alarm. Note the nights the alarm went off was not correlated to the nights of the storm, it is a problem with the alarm/ inconsistent electricity.

Really enjoyed our stay at the windmill and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice relaxing break. Although the windmill is isolated, its only a 10 minute drive to the nearest beach.

It was lovely having a 'home from home' while away, and the Windmill was perfect for my wife and I to relax in while taking a break from exploring the stunning local scenery on Anglesey. The property itself is just absolutely beautiful. The ceiling has beautiful beams, wooden floors and every single thing you will need to have a beautiful relaxing holiday. The accommodation had lovely character and provided us with everything we needed. It was very comfortable and clean. The beds were very comfortable, and rooms were a great size. Honestly, I couldn't actually think of anything that I'd improve about this place.

Beautiful building and so cleverly restored. Ideal for a relaxing getting away from it break - need to drive to any local beach or attraction but this building is so lovely to come home to after.

It was a great place to stay, we had a wonderful holiday in the windmill. The views were stunning, and the dark sky at night was amazing - we didn't realise there were so many stars!.
