Situated in a quiet, rural part of Anglesey, this cluster of detached holiday properties are located at Melin Newydd windmill, which has been featured on Channel 4’s ’Restoration Man’ with George Clarke. The Windmill (ref 29567) has a lovely living area on the ground floor and a double bedroom on each of the first and second floors, from where a steep, space saver staircase leads up to a third floor living room with a balcony and fabulous views out over the surrounding countryside. Full of original features oozing character, The Windmill has been the subject of a simply stunning restoration, which makes this a cosy and quirky place to stay. Owl Cottage (ref 29569) features a conservatory living room, with picture windows opening to the fields, and two gallery bedrooms, whilst The Top Barn (ref 29568) is another barn conversion with lots of original features. These three properties are just a 10-minute drive from the delightful sandy beach at Rhosneigr - indeed, with 125 miles of coastline on the Isle of Anglesey you’re never far away from a beach or rocky cove to explore. A short distance away is the RSPB reserve at South Stack near Holyhead, whilst children will love Foel Farm Park or Anglesey Sea Zoo at Brynsiencyn. The NT mansion of Plas Newydd is well worth a visit, as is pretty Beaumaris with its castle, whilst the mountains of Snowdonia can be easily reached back on the mainland. Beach 5 miles. I’ve wanted to stay in this windmill since seeing it on the tv programme ‘Restoration Man’. It’s a lovely place, very comfortable and well equipped. It’s just a shame the weather wasn’t better but we were still able to find lots to do.

Well equipped and comfortable accommodation, however, maintenance could be updated. Lack of WiFi was a problem, but understand that it would be impracticable.

We had an enjoyable stay at the Windmill. It was beautifully renovated and well equipped. The owners should be very proud of there property. The views of the surrounding area and Snowdonia, on a clear day were great. The only downside: a car is needed to reach local amenities/shops.

Had a lovely week with mixed weather. Very quirky but needs some care and attention. We were pre warned about problems with downstairs television which we worked around. A few bulbs need replacing but I'm sure cleaners sort those out regularly. Enjoyed the lovely cake which was left for us and the week flew by in the blink of an eye. Spectacular views from the top floor which was well worth the climb every day.

A wonderful, unique experience (although the spiral staircase was a challenge on occasion). The setting was very peaceful with the cows and their calves coming for a sneaky look. The windmill is looking a little tired in places but overall highly recommended!

Wonderful to stay in such a unique property with only the cows for company. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at the well fitted out windmill. The attention to detail was amazing. However there were a few maintenance issues, the door to the balcony was very hard to open, the downstairs tv needed tuning in every time you switched it on, many of the bulbs needed replacing and the heated towel rails were not working. This didn’t spoil our stay ,the location was beautiful the views especially from the top floor were stunning and “what a unique place for a holiday”.

We stayed in the Windmill in early June for a week and had a wonderful time. The windmill is beautifully decorated and furnished and has all the mod cons you need for a wonderful relaxing time. The surrounding area and Anglesey as a whole is beautiful, the windmill is in an excellent location to access all of the island. We really enjoyed our trip and the fact we got to stay in a beautiful quirky windmill was the icing on the cake.

Great holiday. Having The Windmill as a holiday home really made our stay a wonderful experience. It was well equipped, comfortable, and finished to a high quality. Although we were out during the day we used the facilities in the evening. We would recommend this as an unusual and stunning place to stay.
