Relax and enjoy the views from this property, or why not explore the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Mountain views

This semi-detached holiday property has been formed from a tasteful renovation of an old milking parlour, set on a traditional beef farm. Uninterrupted views can be enjoyed across the beautiful Towy Valley to the Brecon Beacons. The property is conveniently situated between Llandovery and Llandeilo, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and therefore a car is essential for arriving at the cottage. This region is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor leisure activities, such as walking, climbing, mountain biking, fishing and bird watching, with numerous attractions and the coast within easy driving distance. The Brecon Beacons National Park extends from Llandeilo to Hay-on-Wye. The scenery is spectacular, with diverse countryside including high mountain peaks, gorges, waterfalls, lakes, open hills and moorland, as well as wooded valleys and lowlands with soft rolling farmland and clear meandering rivers. The park can be explored on foot, horseback, bicycle or by car, and is rich in wildlife. Nearby gardens include the National Botanic Garden of Wales, the Garden of Aberglasney and Gelli Aur Country Park. Pembrey Country Park provides access to Cefn Sidan beach, a 7-mile expanse of sandy beach. The country park provides nature trails, pony trekking, a dry ski slope and a salt marsh nature reserve. The National Wetlands Centre near Llanelli has marshes, lakes and reed beds where a variety of birds can be seen, and woodland birds can be seen at the RSPB Dinas Nature Reserve, 10 miles north of Llandovery. Shop, pub and restaurant 5 miles.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. Shower room with toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with toilet.

Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. Digital TV. DVD. CD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Wi-Fi. Lawned garden with patio. Barbecue. Ample parking. No smoking.

A lovely, spacious and very warm modern cottage with a wonderful view over the valley to the Black Mountains. The track up to the site needs careful negotiation and there are some ramshackle farm buildings to the side and rear of the cottage but the area is very quiet and we enjoyed watching the barn owl arriving at and leaving the barn at the back. The kitchen is large and mostly well equipped and organised for recycling but could perhaps use a grater and some new cutlery. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding non-feather. There are plenty of towels and toilet rolls and the shower is a joy. There is a petrol station with shop nearby but we shopped at the Co-op in Llandeilo which is a short drive away. All in all, this is one of the nicest places I have stayed; we had a lovely relaxing time and the owners were delightful. Thank you very much.

We had a brilliant week at Marlais. The owner had made us very welcome and made sure we had a travel cot and high chair all set up for our toddler. The cottage was spacious and cosy and was in the perfect location. Very close to the A40 for travelling to different attractions and a few mins drive from pubs and small supermarkets. The track up to the cottage was long enough to not realise how close you are. Flossie and Roxy the dogs came for a cuddle every day (in the garden) and we were spoilt by the wonderful views. A beautiful cottage in a lovely area. We would definitely stay here again.

A wonderful base for exploring the beautiful countryside of Carmarthenshire! The cottage was lovely, with a very helpful host who provides everything you need (except perhaps a larger sofa!)

We only stayed for a week, but could quite easily have stayed much longer! This cottage is a fabulous little gem with everything you need for your holiday. A well equipped kitchen, super clean and cosy throughout, literally everything is thought of to make your stay relaxed and comfortable. We had a great a great mobile and Wi-Fi reception, on o2 network . Fantastic views from the patio/garden. We had brilliant time staying at Marlais Cottage, thanks to great owners and 2 awesome dogs, Flossie & Roxy. Thanks again x

We had a wonderful week of hot weather in Marlais. The hosts are there if you need help but otherwise you're left alone to enjoy the peace and quiet and fabulous views. The cottage is extremely well equipped and spacious. Highly recommended.
