A wonderful cottage nestled in remote Glen Cassley. The cottage was warm and welcoming with most things that your would expect. The kitchen was well equipped and the cooker was excellent. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. It was great to have a wood burning stove with plenty of wood available. A wonderful place for the children to play. We saw lots of deer. There are many forest walks close by and the west cost is beautiful short drive away.

We had an amazing week away here for Christmas 2018. This cottage and surrounding areas are just perfect. Beautiful in every way. Totally secluded which is exactly what we wanted. The owners were so thoughtful and left a supply of various things to use such as dishwasher tablets, non bio washing powder and logs for the log burner. Thank you for everything, we would love to return and have passed info on to friends and family that were stunned by our photos. Truly amazing.

This is a beautiful, well equipped house which is immaculately maintained. The location is excellent for regular sightings of wildlife including both Red and Sika deer, Golden Eagles and leaping Salmon on the river Cassley immediately in front of the house. Whilst remote, this house is in a good position for exploring other areas in the Heart of Sutherland.

Fantastic cottage, immaculate inside and has everything and more that you could possibly need. We loved the isolation and remoteness of the location, but you still have civilization a short drive away. By far the best cottage we have stayed in and it will be very difficult to beat. Amazing!

Can’t fault the cottage, clean, well equipped with everything you need. Only downside, could do with a better sky package as WiFi very limited and a few DVDs. Lovely location but sadly a bit too remote for us. Great place if you want to literally get away from it all. Sadly didn’t see any eagles but plenty of deer!!

This truly is a fantastic property. The location is idillyc and so peaceful, during the day we saw salmon jumping in the river and at night time there were plenty of dear and I can't remember ever having seen the stars so clearly. Inside the property is very spacious, the kitchen is well stocked with almost everything you could need (the only thing we couldn't find was a baking tray) there is also a drying room which was a blessing for the couple of days where the Scottish weather conspired against us. The log fire set the atmosphere perfectly for a cosy evenings rest after a long day out walking and the bedrooms were all welcoming roomy and clean. We can highly recommend a visit to the Achness hotel which you pass on the way in, the food was lovely (they even do takeout pizza and beer) and the barman was really friendly as were the locals. We booked March Cottage because we wanted somewhere peaceful in the middle of nowhere which is exactly what we got, it did mean that we did quite a bit of driving visiting other places but again we expected that. Could not recommend this place more highly if you are looking for peace, quiet and stunning views. Graham, Lou and a very worn out Oscar the dog.

March Cottage can only be described as a big house in a secluded glen. There was loads of space to run around inside the house and every room was well presented. Some of these holiday lets will only give the bare minimum to get you going but we found the house to be well stocked which was really nice. The heating was on when we arrived but we didn't need it as the house kept the heat well. There is a great big log burning stove and a ton of wood for fuel, we never got a chance to use it as it was warm enough but it looks big enough to heat the whole house. There is a separate area behind the garage for keeping wet clothing and shoes to allow them to dry which is perfect for coming back from those local walks. It is very hard to fault such a well presented house however the living room sofa is in dire need of replacement The Sky TV box would be better replaced with a normal freesat box, we were presented with a ton of TV channels which we simply could not watch. The WiFi has a monthly usage limit which unfortunately was already spent before we arrived, don't depend on using any internet streaming services for evening entertainment. There is also no mobile phone signal at the property which is to be expected, the owners have kindly provided a free to use landline which can be used to call local numbers only. All the bedrooms were spacious and well presented, each with it's own built in wardrobe and dressing table. There are proud certificates of silvers awards displayed but we thought it was definitely a place worthy of getting gold.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Hi Mark, the Wi-Fi has now been changed to BT, meaning though it remains slow, it is unlimited. Hope to see you again sometime.

The location is simply perfect for people looking for pure nature, silence, privacy and who want to be away from it all. The cottage is a perfect base for exploring all North - Scotland from Cape Wrath and John o Grotes down to Ullapool and even Inverness.

Our second Spring visit to March cottage. It is the most wonderful cottage - well large house really - spotlessly clean and furnished with good quality fixtures and fittings and everything you need for your stay. The glen road runs in front of the cottage but is very quiet with just the odd car going by, you can have the glen all to yourselves. This time we had an ospreys nest, a buzzards nest and redstarts nesting. Golden eagles were a regular sighting. The East, West and North coasts are within easy reach. You will be surrounded by red and sika deer in high numbers. The sika deer were having their calves when we were there. Just wonderful. Everyone was extremely welcoming. We hope to return to this special cottage in the glen.
