This single-storey barn conversion is the perfect base for a romantic break away, with the opportunity to spend an afternoon wine tasting at Hush Heath.

In the ‘Garden of England’, where the apple orchards blossom, on the outskirts of the pretty Kentish Wealden village of Staplehurst, lies this single-storey barn with level access. Visit Hush Heath, the state of the art winery, with a beautiful 400-acre estate, where some of England’s most iconic still and sparkling wines, and ciders are produced. Visitors can join a guided vineyard and tasting tour.
Garden lovers should head towards the National Trust owned Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, which once belonged to the writer Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicholson and is one of the most famous gardens in England achieving Grade I Status. Should you wish to shop, head over to McArthur Glen at Ashford, the designer discount outlet, where you cannot fail to bag a bargain.
Described as the ‘loveliest castle in the world’, Leeds Castle is nestled near the county town of Maidstone, where you can also enjoy open air concerts in the summer. Tunbridge Wells is half an hour’s drive away and offers Jazz on the Pantiles and many fine dining experience. Beaches can be found at Hastings and Camber Sands and there are very good rail connections to London offering the theatre and additional sightseeing opportunities. Comfortable cottage in a quiet and peaceful location. This was our second stay and we enjoy watching the birds, wildlife and horses in the evenings on our return from our days out. We had good weather during our stay and never turned the TV on as we were enjoying our surroundings instead. Comfortable bed, nice shower and generous welcome pack. We hope to return again.

Overall this was a nice place to stay. It wasn't as quiet as we thought it might be. Nice owners.

Very nice rural location, very peaceful (apart from the morning call from the local pack of crows devouring the food from the bird feeders!). Our host was very courteous and helpful. The converted barn was of high order in terms of cleanliness and spec. of equipment etc.. A couple of low beams here and there, but that added to the character of the place. A shaving point in the bathroom would have been handy and a dodgy/damaged control knob on the oven kept us guessing, but overall it was a higher than average standard and would definitely recommend you trying it out. Very good base for seeing the delights Kent has to offer!

Very enjoyable stay, quiet rural environment. Plenty of wildlife to watch and comical friendly horses to watch in the field adjacent to the cottage. Very hospitable hosts who provide a nice welcome pack of eggs, bread, butter and milk. Full Sky Tv package which is an excellent addition. Kitchen is fully equipped, less a dishwasher, with there only being two of us this wasn’t really an issue. You won’t be disappointed with any booking you make for this cottage.

This was a wonderful gem of a place and Pauline made us feel really welcome. A delightful welcome gift was left and the accommodation gave us the peace and quiet we were looking forward to. We may well be back this year as we miss the horses and the action at the bird feeder! Thank you both.

We arrived on a sunny spring morning, and the reaction was just 'Wow!' A beautiful location and a spacious, comfortable, well-appointed conversion.... what's not to like? The bluebells in the woods beyond were magnificent, and the view across the fields behind the Stables is calm and peaceful. Thank you Pauline - we will definitely be visiting again.
