Lovely stay. Owners very welcoming friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure your stay was comfortable. They went above and beyond in our hour of need and we can't thank them enough.

Having never experienced a cottage holiday; with the dog before - we were pleasantly surprised. Can not fault our hosts; so friendly and on hand if any issues. The cottage is situated within the farm; had an enclosed courtyard which was excellent for the dog and we also be for young children. Following on the cottage came with three enclosed paddocks which were completely dog friendly which had been allocated for guests. The cottage had a warm and comfort feel, no problems with coping with a large dog / two adults - plenty of room both up and downstairs. Excellent network connections.Came away very relaxed. Would highly recommend and we are hoping to return again. Thankyou

The owners are very friendly however the cottage itself has some major problems. The sleeping accommodation, (I can't call it a bedroom) in the eves of the apartment is completly enclosed with not the slightest possibility of fresh air circulation or daylight. It's actually unhealthy. That is the same problem with the toilet/shower, totally enclosed with no light or fresh air possibilities and the tiny fan doesn't do much so there is often a quite unpleasant smell of stale water. It's not possible to stand up and the storage possibilities for clothes is very limited and difficult to use. There is no dishwasher and very limited cutlery available, so always washing, sometimes during the meal. The WIFI is the slowest I've experienced single dial-up internet in the 80/90's, less than 1Mb.. streaming totally impossible. When we arrived, the cottage smell was completely overpowering due to 'scent makers' covering latent smells. After we removed them, the room was bearable but it was a toss up what was worse in the shower/ toilet. The very steep stairs could be a problem for many Exiting the property is quite dangerous; it's on a VERY busy A21 and you have poke you nose out to see traffic from the right and visibility to the left very limited. With the traffic often highly exceeding the speed limit, you cross your fingers coming out. The building is divided into two VERY small accommodations, if they were made into ONE, with a normal bedroom, it would be a normal acceptable size, however calling them bijou is misusing the word.. they are smaller. I'm afraid that without major improvements, I would definitely not recommend Quince cottage or its adjoining twin.

Quince cottage is a small and very clean accommodation. It is well situated to access Hastings. There was a large field available for the dog to run in and it was lovely to see the chickens and give the pig a brush when we were passing! We were disappointed that there wasn't a DVD player available but not the end of the world on a two night break. Be aware that the upstairs room is in the roof and therefore quite tight for headroom!

Andrew and penny were very welcoming and accommodating, we were lucky enough to have a guided tour Around the farm to meet the swans, pigs, chickens, sheep and thier dogs, Andrew kindly gave me some rare breed bacon from the farm shop (amazing). Great location for walks in and around battle and and a charming cottage, and only a short stumble to the local pub.

3 nights spent here. Friendly welcome from owners, Andrew and Penny, spacious grounds to walk dog next to small holding. Cottage is just right size, but bedroom does have steep stairs and the roof gable does limit movement when upstairs. Would be hot in high summer but fine for our visit. Sedlescombe around corner has nice pub, Queens Head, good food and beer and welcomes dogs inside. The location is good for local attractions like Rye, Bexhill/Hastings and Beachy Head about 30 minutes drive. Weather was good also which helped!
