The Rob Roy Way offers rewarding walking through the surrounding countryside, while Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve has routes for a wide range of abilities, from gentle nature trails to challenging mountain ascents. Loch Tay is perfect for days on the water, with kayaking, paddleboarding and sailing among the activities available locally. Guests also have access to the loch frontage and fishing rights, providing a wonderfully peaceful way to spend an afternoon.
The village of Killin lies approximately seven miles away, where the River Dochart tumbles dramatically over rocks at the famous Falls of Dochart. Its shops, cafés and places to eat make it a convenient stop during a day of exploring. Follow the loch in the opposite direction to reach Kenmore and the Scottish Crannog Centre, or discover the quiet glens, forests and waterfalls found throughout the wider area. Wildlife enthusiasts may spot red squirrels, deer and an impressive variety of birds.
Fern Cottage is a charming octagonal retreat for two, distinguished by its traditional thatched roof and inviting open-plan studio layout. Original ceiling beams and elegant furniture add character, while luxurious underfloor heating creates a warm and comfortable atmosphere in every season.
The kitchen has a Corian worktop and modern appliances, with the living, dining and sleeping spaces arranged together beneath the roof. A king-size bed, dressed in Egyptian cotton linen, promises a restful night. The en-suite bathroom includes a walk-in shower and a roll-top bath. Outside, a year-round hot tub provides a peaceful place to relax beside the Ardeonaig Burn and enjoy the scenery and birdlife.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 20 guests.
