Great cottage in a beautiful area, the house was a great size for 8 of us and the welcome pack was really good. The owner was very nice and helped us with our supermarket delivery when we were delayed on our arrival due to train problems. The mattresses were very comfortable and we all slept well. A few little things needed fixing and it would have been perfect. There is a hole in the bath in the bedroom which means you can only have shallow baths, the cooker needs to have the timer set before it will work but there is no note of this, the carpets still had some dog hairs on from the previous occupants, the door to the main bathroom is very stiff and does not fit the door frame and the information pack needs updating. I would say you need a car when visiting littlecroft, the train station is 25 minutes walk away and the bus service is only every hour and very expensive. We enjoyed our stay and found the house very comfortable the things I have mentioned above are only very small and the house it's self is very well equipped and nicely furnished. The garden was also a bonus although not very big it was big enough for us and was very private.

great holiday, 1 minor problem. was resolved very quickly, I would make 1 recommendation that as we had an elderly infirm person who used the downstairs facilities, that a full size washbasin be installed in the downstairs bedroom.

We had a good family holiday at Littlecroft. We enjoyed the unusual house, which is large enough to accommodate us easily even though at one point we were seven adults, a two-year-old and a baby. Parking for a third car when visitors came was slightly more difficult as the house is on the main road through Alnmouth, but the location was a great advantage when we wanted to eat out, buy in fish and chips, go to church, visit the lovely gift shop, or collect a few items of shopping from the surprisingly well-stocked Post office. Quite close is Alnwick for any other needs, including the famous Barter Books. We had lovely walks along the beach and round the town: there is a children's playground less than ten minutes' walk from the house which is a pleasure for adults too, with its view of the boats by the river. We enjoyed a trip to Warkworth Castle and town: a good destination if you are tired of long drives. The garden is difficult for unsupervised children as it is not enclosed and has steep concrete steps, but it's great for sitting out on the lawn and reading! Altogether we had a very happy time in a delightful friendly place which is a good base for exploring the many pleasures of the Northumberland coast.

The neighbours are very unfriendly regarding the parking.. they made it clear we should not be there!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are sorry this has happened. We have a garage and a space next to the garage so I will speak to the neighbours regarding this matter. We have new neighbours so this could be an issue but we all have to work together. Obviously if the lane is blocked other than unloading it could be an issue but we have had no problems for years. There is parking also in front of the property.

Littlecroft is an ideal house for family groups. It is spacious and comfortable. It’s in a great position to walk to the beach and to visit surrounding areas. It is well equipped and we weren’t short of anything. The owners left a very generous welcome pack. A couple of minor issues were dealt with promptly and efficiently with a text or e mail. As mentioned by previous clients the front curtains were very thin and with the sun shining in ( a bonus) it was very light early morning. With 2 children and a baby it was good to have the extra games/ books and beach toys.

We had a lovely week, Alnmouth is a great location. The beaches superb and people so friendly. Whilst Littlecroft is well located and perfectly adequate, we were disappointed as we felt it didnt match its description as 'luxurious'. The bedrooms and bathrooms were good (excepting the mattess in the main bedroom which badly needs replacing), but the downstairs is in need of some tlc. There are a number of minor repairs needed throughout: The oven door doesnt shut properly The back door doesn't shut unless locked The DVD player doesnt work properly Curtains in small bedroom frayed and are poor quality. Some of pillows stained Pots and pans poor quality Some of ight bulbs out in kitchen Paintwork downstairs needs new lick of paint throughout Dead Christmas tree still outside back door (in April!) Paintwork to rear of house poor condition Whilst non of this is a real problem - it was a warm and comfortable home, it does detract from overall qualityand compared to other property's we have stayed in (and we have stayed in alot of holiday cottages) we did not feel that Littlecroft was good value for money and was overpriced.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. All the things mentioned have now been completed, kitchen and stairs repainted, the outside painted, new bedding with all new pillows and the mattress has been replaced. There is a maintenance plan for the cooker repairs and the garden has also been made over.
