Description

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and relax in the lovely Cornish countryside

Little Whiteleigh is the ideal bolt hole for couples wanting to escape the hustle and bustle. This pretty little detached cottage, within the owner’s grounds, is set in six acres of peaceful Cornish countryside, well located for many different activities including; surfing, walking, cycling and sightseeing.

The cottage is just 6 miles from the golden sands of Widemouth Bay, popular with surfers, and 9 miles from Bude with its historic castle, vibrant town centre and vast array of good restaurants and bars, along with three more glorious sandy beaches and a stunning coastal path. The fishing villages of Tintagel, Rock and Padstow are close by, and the wild beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moors are all within easy driving distance, as well as the famous Eden Project. Port Isaac, made famous in the TV series ’Doc Martin’, is worth a visit, as is Boscastle. Really enjoyed our stay here - it suited us really well as Eve gave us all the information we needed up front, and left us to our own devices so we could enjoy our break. She was friendly, and also advised on nice local places to visit during our stay. My wife was also fond of the horses and dogs on the site - although for anyone not comfortable around animals, they are kept well away from the cottage and contact with them could be completely avoided, if desired. We love animals though, so this wasn't a problem! The location is very rural (which again, was exactly what we were looking for) and there is a local convenience store, but there isn't much in the way of local amenities, if that's what you are looking for. We will definitely keep Little Whiteleigh in mind if we ever do travel there again!

Met by very welcoming and friendly owners, the location was beautiful and very quiet. Very welcoming and accepting of our pet Chihuaua, Oliver. Overall, great value for money with very friendly people who all wore a smile on their faces and are happy to go the extra mile for their guests. The location is perfect for a relaxing get away and for first time visitors to Devon. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can.
