Extensive wider amenities are available in nearby Huddersfield and Holmfirth which is best recognised as the backdrop to the long running comedy series ‘Last of the Summer Wine’. The area is well situated to offer beautiful countryside with ample cycling and walking opportunities, being just a short drive from the stunning vistas of the Peak District National Park. Other places of interest include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, 20 minutes, Haworth, and Bronte Country, 45 minutes, and Manchester, 1 hour away. The historic city of York and beautiful Harrogate can also be reached in just over an hour. Accessible National Trust properties include Nostell Priory and Hardcastle Crags, both around 45 minutes away.
