Otter’s Den (ref UKC597) is one of three charming converted barns and a Georgian farmhouse on the estate and sleeps up to 8 guests in four double or twin bedrooms. It’s been designed with open-plan living in mind – the spacious kitchen, dining and living area creates a sociable hub for families and friends to relax and spend time together. Large windows and French doors flood the space with light and open out onto a private garden with a gas BBQ and outdoor seating – perfect for alfresco dining in warmer months.
Guests at Otter’s Den have full access to Libbear Barton’s excellent facilities, including a large indoor heated swimming pool (open daily from 9am to 8pm, bookable in advance), sauna, gym, and games room with pool table, table tennis, table football and darts. There’s a soft play area for children up to 7, as well as an outdoor adventure playground, mini football pitch, and five acres of private woodland with trails and picnic spots.
The on-site petting farm, with miniature donkeys, chickens, ducks and guinea pigs, is always a highlight for little ones.
Families are well catered for, with cots, highchairs, stairgates and other baby/toddler essentials available on request. The grounds also include a tranquil lake (50 yards from the property), wildlife hide, and open meadows where you might spot swallows, red deer, and – if you’re lucky – even an otter.
Libbear Barton is also a superb venue for larger gatherings, with The Stables, a beautiful beamed events space, available for group dining, parties and celebrations. And with multiple properties on site, everyone can stay together without the need to travel.
For those who want to explore, the dramatic coastlines of North Devon and Cornwall are just a 25-minute drive away, offering sandy beaches, surfing, and hidden coves. Nearby attractions include The Big Sheep and The Milky Way, while the Tarka Trail offers superb cycling and walking through stunning countryside.
Beach 14 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles. Otter’s Den can be booked with Toad Hall (ref UKC595), Badger’s House (ref UKC596) and Mole End (ref UKC598) to accommodate up to 40 guests.
