We were made welcome by Helen & David. We found the accommodation was a bit chilly of an evening being that it was mid August. There was a small electric fire. It would have been nice if there were a few games to while away time when weather was wet and windy. The ground is quite large (ideal for twitters) and the lake would probably be used by keen fishermen. The location was a bit of a nightmare, road works and diversion signs, road closures. Diversion signs very misleading one pointing right the other left with no indication of what the end destination would be - ok if you are a native - About a mile away there is one pub Finchinfield Lion which serves a good meal. All in all our short stay wasn't too bad! WIFI kept dropping off.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Sorry to hear you were a bit chilly would have been happy to put full central heating on even in August if we had been made aware that oil filled radiator was not sufficient. There were some diversions locally over the school holidays out of our control I am afraid. There are two other pubs two restaurants and two cafes in the village by The Lion. We will add some extra games to go with the book pile. Unfortunately the wifi sometimes does drop out as we are rural.

This is a very nice little cottage near Finchingfield. The rural setting with its own fishing lake, ducks and chickens is very agreeable. However, it is therefore quite a distance to the amenities in Finchingfield, we had to use the car to get the paper in the morning. The cottage is very well equipped, with a very spacious bathroom with nice blue-and-white tiles, and a very comfortable bed. The living space annex the well equipped kitchen is a bit small. Because all the windows were small and a bit high in the walls there is no view from the living space, other than overlooking the communal garden. The garden is to be shared with the owners, who live next door, but they are very nice people, so no bother about that. In short: a very amendable cottage, expecially for nature lovers who like the peace and quiet of a rural setting.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Lovely couple, was great to meet them - just want to point out that there is a place to sit out that isn’t in the garden and a swing chair by the pond at the front of the property.
