We had a lovely holiday in Mousehole, beautiful fishing village and lovely cottage close to the beach. The cottage is quite dark as there are properties infront and behind you. There is some parking in Molehole, but it is limited and we knew this when we booked. It's worth taking pound coins with you rather than searching around for change!

We had a great family holiday in Mousehole this year, staying at Kitchen Cottage. We had never visited Mousehole before and totally fell in love with it! It is a beautiful village and a fabulous place for a holiday with two small children. The cottage is in an ideal location to allow you to enjoy everything that Mousehole has to offer too. Positives about the cottage... 1) You can tell that the owner puts a lot of thought in to things such as the extensive DVD collection, the well put together manual of local amenities and the soft furnishings etc. 2) EXCELLENT location and the courtyard in a nice bonus too. 3) Lovely and quiet. Negatives about the cottage: 1) The agency used for cleaning and maintaining the property let it down. It had obviously been given a cursory clean as you could smell the cleaning products but the kitchen work surfaces were grubby and the crockery etc was grubby too. Nothing a hot soak in the dishwasher didn't cure but I had to give the kitchen a thorough clean. The bathroom was the same. I felt I had to clean it before i wanted to put my baby in the bath. 2) Dog hair. There was a sign up saying that pets were welcome but please not on the furniture and not upstairs. However, the sofa cushions and throws were covered in dog hair and sadly, so were the cushions on the bed in the master bedroom. Not nice! Its the fine coating of dog hair over most things that sadly mean that we won't stay there again. Such a shame as it is a very cute little cottage in a lovely village.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you found the cottage was not up to scratch in terms of cleaning. It is a shame that you did not report this to the housekeeper who was around (and met you) during your stay as she would have cleaned again had you pointed out the problems. The cottage has been accepting dogs for a number of years now and we are looking very closely at making sure everything is cleaned and hoovered extra thoroughly after guests have stayed with dogs. I agree that dog hair in the bedroom is not pleasant.
