Cottage was bigger than we expected. The photos don’t do it justice. The only downside was the windows in the two front bedrooms were stuck fast and we couldn’t open them. The weather was extremely hot so we didn’t sleep very well. I also think it is a bit risky if there was a fire on the landing we would have been trapped. The welcome pack was a lovely touch.

Very comfortable cottage in nice setting by stream at edge of working village with good walks nearby. Lots of thoughtful little touches added, interesting buildings and nice garden. Decent pub with food next door. Owners very helpful in advance, we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely relaxing week here. Well situated for plenty of days out. The owners have thought of every detail to make it an enjoyable stay. Really well equipped and very dog friendly. The pub next door is excellent serving very good food at reasonable prices. Would definitely visit again. Thank you

This was our second visit; perfect location for visiting friends and family and some lovely walks in the local area. Cottage is well maintained, clean and comfortable and the enclosed garden was perfect for our two dogs.

Wow. Absolutely amazing. We went in winter so it was quite chilly and we struggled to warm the bedroom. However, the fireplace I the lounge made it super cosy. It was clean accommodation with a well thought welcome from the owner. We would go back in a heartbeat. Most importantly it is very well placed so there are many places to go and most are dog friendly which made us and our pup very happy! We ca not wait for an excuse to head back and spend some more time here at the jug and glass!

A beautiful cottage and so well equipped. Everything we needed was provided for us, including a welcome pack and Christmas gifts. The stairs were a challenge, but plenty of handrails were provided to make life easier. The food in the pub next door was wonderful. Would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.

We had a brilliant time and really appreciated the Christmas touches and the kid treats. Pub next door was very handy and the cottage was a home from home. Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage. Spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. My bed was incredibly comfortable! The fenced in garden was perfect for our dogs and the two pubs in the village provide good pub grub (for a hearty appetite - huge portions!) Plenty of excellent walks locally with Poulter Country Park at the other end of the village and a large National Trust Estate (Clumber Park) and Sherwood Forest only minutes away. Only a short drive to The Peak District (and Chatsworth House) for some really spectacular walks. We both said that we'd definitely like to return to the cottage as we didn't have nearly enough time to explore the area. A fantastic place to holiday with dogs.

Good cottage. Worth staying. Walks from cottage and lots of places to visit. Pub next door OK but only visited once, meal and service poor. Had a better meal from the other pub about as mile away. DVD didn't work but there was one we could eventually bring down from a bedroom. Was disappointing as we took a load of DVDs to watch and didn't. Could have done with a dishwasher and kitchen layout could be better. Liked the outhouse and garden. Wood burner didn't perform as well as we expected it to. Bedrooms good. Bathroom good. Liked the extra rooms and the bit between the kitchen and the bedrooms at the foot of the stairs. The dogs enjoyed their time there. Overall would recommend the place to anyone.
