Joey’s Pod is situated in an extinct volcano in Kilchoan on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, less than a mile to the beautiful Sanna Bay beaches. Joey’s Pod, along with Dougie Pod (ref UK42011) and Katie’s Pod (ref UK42013), are not what you would expect of a pod. They have a separate bedroom, a shower room, the living area has a kitchen with a full size cooker and table and chairs. There is a decking area at the front of the pod from where you can enjoy the views over the loch and mountains. A perfect spot to relax, enjoy the scenery and the coastline of what the peninsula has to offer.
Driving to Joey’s Pod you first have a romantic trip across the Corran ferry and then a lovely scenic drive down passing Loch Loch Shiel, Acharacle and then onto Kilchoan which is at the point of Ardnamurchan. The pod is close to Ardnamurchan Point and the shops and pub is 4 miles away, while Sanna Beach is 500 yards in front of the house and has beautiful sands. If the weather is nice, pack a picnic and head to the beach. Enjoy your morning cuppa on the decking watching the sea eagles hover above.
For a nice day out why not head over to the Isle of Mull by ferry from Lochaline over to Salen (please book in advance). The west coast of Scotland has many castles, some inhabited and some are now ruins, but well worth visiting, if you travel north you will come across the famous Eilean Donan Castle which is the seat of the Macrae Clan, 30 minutes north you will drive over the bridge to the Isle of Skye. For a scenic route, you could take the ferry from Armadale back to Mallaig (book in advance) and return home to Joey’s Pod for a nice relaxing evening.
Glencoe is stunning, no matter what time of year, you can visit the Glencoe Visitors Centre and read about the Battle of Glencoe where the Clans the Campbells massacred the Macdonalds when they were asleep!, or try one of the many walks which there are to discover. Beach 500 yards. Shops and pub 4 miles.
This property can be booked with Katie’s Pod (ref UK42013) and Dougie Pod (ref UK42011) to accommodate up to 6 guests.
