It's a new build 2 bed house. Smallish. On a busy residential street. With a really nice enclosed back yard. Well equipped. All electric. Very clean. Beach is 5 mins walk. Good selection of games DVD and books Beadnell is in a good location. Seahouses is 2 miles. Bamburgh 5 miles . Alnwick 10 . Lindusfarne 15 and Berwick 20 However beadnell has one shop very nice. A cafe come restaurant. Again nice . A pub that we didnt use The reason we wouldn't go back where the rules. No muddy boots. Water the plants. Take the bin out on collection day. Use the shower curtain. Most are common sense I hope. Then there was the departure checklist. This listed the end of holiday things. Strip the bed. Empty the dishwasher and replace all pots etc. Empty the bins . Clean the fire? If we wanted to be told to clean we could have saved the money and stayed at home. For the record we have one owner sent us a letter thanking us for how we left her house. It spoilt the atmosphere

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Dear John, We are so sorry you didn’t enjoy your holiday; we want all our guests to have a lovely time. The checklist is something many cottages have just as a helpful reminder and we regret that you read it as a set of rules.

Jimbow is a lovely place to stay and I’m sure we’ll be visiting for a third time soon. It has everything a family of four needs for a weeks stay and is a great base for exploring the area from. A five minute walk to the beach means you can just pop there whenever you want and it’s the same distance if the kids want to go rock pooling. Our two children, aged 9 and 16, loved it, as did we. Beadnell is small and has limited facilities but Seahouses is only a couple of miles away and has everything else you need.

Jimbow is a great place. Very well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location, being in such close proximity to the beach is great. The only drawback.. and this is picking holes is that the the shop is a drive or a 40 minute roundtrip walk away... not Jimbow's fault obviously but you should bear it mind if you like getting a morning paper or run out of milk! The owners of Jimbow were excellent, providing a mass of local information.. the postcard sent to our home address was a lovely personalised touch as was the shortbread on arrival, which came in handy whilst we were stumbling about at Cragside..(an absolute must for anyone staying!)

Lovely location and lovely house. I have stayed here twice now. Could do with a gas barbeque outside.

we have stayed at Jimbow before, which was our reason for staying there again. It is in perfect location and suited our family's needs perfectly. The only negative I would have is the bath towels provided are too small. They need to be bigger as although suitable for a man to cover up after a shower, they are not deep enough for a woman to be suitably covered up following a shower.

It's the 2nd time we've been to Jimbow, and just like last time we loved it!
