Loved our stay at Jackdaw Cottage. It has beautiful well equiped kitchen ,a comfortable living room/dinning area , the beds were comfy and shower was good with plenty of hot water.....we settled in no time at all and would definately return .It has a real homely feel. On our rainy day evenings my daughter especially loved playing on the Wii and board games that were available. The village is small and quiet, with a local pub. The nearest shops are at Ulverston which is approx 4 miles away. The cottage was very well presented and clear.

We had a nice stay, the cottage has everything you need to self cater. The pub across the road serves good food - I'd recommend to book a table. The wood burning stove was a nice touch - very easy to use. Great shower. A good base to explore the lakes. If I'm being picky a few things could do with a clean - like the kettle, flooring, the washing machine, some bedding and towels had a dump smell. General tidying up of the outside, sweep up the leaves, etc - Just looked a little tired. Overall we had a nice time.

This was a fantastic cottage, really well appointed, very comfortable, cosy in front of the log burner with comfortable beds and a lovely living/dining room. Excellent entertainment options too, with high-speed internet and DVDs. An easy drive to lots of attractions, there was so much to do we didn't even get to go to the pub right across the road (and even with that it was a very quiet area). Definitely comes highly recommended.
