Horseshoe Cottage is nestled in quiet, picturesque Nordham, on the outskirts of North Cave near Beverley. Thoughtfully redesigned this spring to give a large kitchen diner with new stable door to the garden, and enlarged sitting area, all re-decorated, adding to the cottage character.
Horseshoe is warm and inviting and sleeps eight guests comfortably with two kingsize bedrooms and twin rooms, one of the kingsize rooms is accessed by its own staircase, ideal for extended family. Benefiting from a large living room and a further smaller living room there is plenty of space to spread out. The large new kitchen/dining room and utility room means you’ll have everything you need to cook up some fantastic holiday feasts. The sunny gravelled courtyard garden has a large solid table which will sit up to eight people, and there are sun beds for relaxing. The courtyard garden is screened from the driveway and the opening can be fenced on request for toddlers or dogs. Please ask about the enclosed grass field for ball games and picnics which is near the village playing field and not far from the house. If you are cyclists, there’s a building for storing bikes away out of sight.
There are some lovely countryside walks towards the Wolds Way, direct from the door. The Wetlands Bird Sanctuary is at the end of the street, a great place to enjoy the sunset as well as the birdlife. ‘Tour de Yorkshire’ cycling on the quiet Wolds roads is something special for enthusiasts, with plenty of routes to enjoy. There’s fishing, diving and kayaking available in the village, and clay pigeon shooting nearby. Little Wold Vineyard in the neighbouring village runs wine tasting tours arranged via their website. For families, award winning William’s Den in North Cave is highly recommended for adventure play and the village playground is just around the corner!
If you are looking for speciality foods, there is a farm shop on the outskirts of the village specialises in fresh local foods, and an award-winning restaurant. There’s a pub five minutes away, other pubs serving food are in South Cave, Ellerker, Newbald and Sancton, all just over 3 miles away. There is also plenty of good supermarkets nearby and there is an array for foodies in Beverley.
