The cottage is a bit dated and could do with a spruce up. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms clean, although the kitchen cupboards and pans/oven trays needed a clean. I was there with 5 friends (50+) so we just got stuck in and cleaned what we wanted to use. The downside is the elderly owners house is next door and his family go round several times a day and each time they passed by the granary they looked in the windows! Only a couple of miles outside of York centre and across the street from a Toby carvery. Very quiet and relaxing

The cottage was well stocked and there was a welcome pack which was very handy. The beds were comfortable and plenty of towels for the hot tub and showers etc. Everything was spotless and the owners had thought of everything to make the stay comfortable. The hot tub was very welcome after a long journey. We were only there for 2 nights but would like a longer stay and to explore the area more. The Toby Carvery is brilliant for breakfast and there is a retail outlet quite close with lots of restaurants for all tastes.

Great cottage! Really cosy and nicely set up. Cottage is in a nice peaceful area yet not far off from York Centre. The owner is lovely and so helpful. Bread, tea, coffee all waiting on your arrival. The Hottub, Sauna and the games room a bonus! Will be back again soon.

We had a very nice xmas break at The Granary. The cottage was roomy and very comfortable. The only downside was I thought we might be able to walk into York - but really the roads are too busy (but the cottage is set well back so its not a problem) Would definitely recommend!

We hired 3 of the cottages for the weekend and we thought it was absolutely amazing. The cottages were clean, we had everything we needed provided and the owner was a lovely, kind person. I would definitely stay here again.

There was a warm and friendly welcome with tea and coffee and a loaf for toast which was great. The house was well equipped, clean and mostly comfortable and we enjoyed eating outside on the conveniently placed table and chairs with a very pleasant outlook to the well maintained garden area. The games room and sauna and hot tub were fun and the wash room was very convenient too. There was a large playing field to the rear of the property for ball games and a country path near with a plentiful supply of blackberries. We all enjoyed our stay but the only complaint was loud barking dogs at 7:30am. We really wanted a quiet relaxing lie in on our holiday. The nearby road is a bit noisy but these things weren’t a major nuisance once the dogs had their breakfast. Thanks for a lovely visit we enjoyed our stay.
