Lovely cottage in a very well kept village. Really cosy with a great stone fireplace, brilliant for a winter break (our holiday was in February) Comfortable, attractive decor, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Set well back from the road with good size front and back gardens and parking space. The owner was there to greet us on arrival and show us around the property and had lit a roaring log fire which was very much appreciated. Bellerby is less than two miles from Leyburn with all its shops, weekly market, pubs and cafes many of which are dog friendly. All in all the perfect cottage in a very good location.

We had a wonderful weekend in this cosy, homely, fully equipped and extremely clean cottage. We were a party of 4 adults and a Labrador and we had plenty of room plus the benefit of a downstairs loo in addition to shower room and toilet upstairs. The shower was excellent with lots of hot water. The enclosed rear garden and off road parking at the front of the cottage was also appreciated. The weather was very cold and a little snowy so it was perfect to have a roaring log fire. Holly Cottage is certainly one of the best in which we have ever stayed. We hope to return in the future!

This is a beautiful, quaint 300 year old property. The standard of equipment provided was such that it was hard to find an item that was not provided to make ones stay relaxed. Kitchen equipment was entirely adequate and it was a nice touch to have such things as toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, dish washer tablets and even a roll of cling film etc. provided. There were ample local guides, maps and information folders in the cottage. It was also appreciated that the owner left a bottle of the local beer ( brewed in the village) and also some Wensleydale cheese.

We had a lovely week at Holly Cottage, despite the heavy snowfall prior to arrival. The cottage was warm and cosy throughout the week. It was quiet and peaceful and very well equipped. The owner Alan was there to meet us upon arrival and living locally, was always available for advice and support if required. Although there is no village shop, Leyburn is only 5 minutes down the road, with a good selection of shops available. We found the local pub, the Cross Keys disappointing, with meals having to be ordered 24 hours in advance. Also the opening hours were irregular and the establishment lacked atmosphere. We visited both the Bolton Arms at Redmire and the Three Horse Shoes at Wensley, which were both excellent for food, drink and atmosphere. The staff were also very welcoming and catered for all our needs. The majority of pubs in the area are dog friendly. Even wet and dirty dogs are welcome. Thank you Alan for your hospitality, the flowers, milk, beer and cheese were much appreciated.
