If you want a get away from it all with nice views then this is the place for you. The longhouse is very qwerky with a lot of character. Very good showers, beds are comfy and the cooker is adequate. The badminton court in the barn is great if it rains. Keith is certainly a character and he will make sure you have a good time there.

This characterful property looks fantastic with its old wooden beams and quirky decorations (old sewing machine, skis and saddles). It has three double bedrooms (two of which use curtains to provide privacy from the communal areas) a large open plan living room/kitchen dinner, a log fire and two large bathrooms. There is plenty of outdoor space including a patio area with great views of the countryside. It was great for kids - they loved the space and the mezzanine bedroom. It is probably best used in warmer weather. Unfortunately we arrived on an unseasonally cold and snowy Easter Monday and the central heating was broken... the log fire wasn’t able to keep the large open plan space warm by itself. The owner did provide extra blankets and a heater and had the boiler fixed by breakfast the next day. However even with the heating on and using the log fire the temperature didn’t reach 20 degrees C. The property could benefit from one or two extra radiators if used in cold weather. Also a toaster and a couple of mirrors would have improved the comfort/usability of the cottage. Hirros Hall Longhouse is well located and easy to find. It is a rural property a mile or two from small towns with shops etc. It is about 1 hour from the coast, Powis Castle and other local sites. The countryside nearby was lovely and good for walking.
