Hillcrest Cottage is nestled in a superb position on the eastern fringe of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park area close to Scarborough, in a lovely little place called Broxa (Anglo Saxon for home of the Badger). Formerly an 18th century barn, it has been recently renovated, and lovingly decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard. The property is very well-equipped with everything you should require to enjoy your stay. The cottage is a perfect base for walking, cycling and enjoying the best of the area including the coast, moors, and stately homes such as Castle Howard. The North York Moors railway can take you from Pickering to Goathland and Whitby, or you can venture by car to Helmsley and York in around an hour. Castles, waterfalls, beaches, moors, forests, market towns, nature, history...this area has it all. Shop and restaurant 5 miles, pub 2 miles.

We had a fantastic week at Hillcrest Cottage, Carl and Yve were such a nice welcoming couple. The cottage is clean and comfortable, it has everything you need and such lovely views from the hot tub. Such a nice touch with the welcoming pack and eggs from the hens, which kept us entertained all week, especially the wee chick and hope he/she is behaving ! The cottage is so peaceful and a great escape from the world, with plenty walks and places to see nearby. I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. We will be back !

Our stay at Hillcrest Cottage beat all expectations. Yve and Carl are lovely, warm and welcoming. They greeted us with a very nice welcome pack and were able to give good advice on places to visit. The cottage is lovely, and has all the necessary equipment. The location is fantastic! Very quiet with lovely views of the countryside from the summer house and hot tub. Easy access to Scarborough, Whitby, Pickering... We cannot recommend it enough! Seo & Carlos

This is by far the most relaxing holiday with the best views I have ever seen.. we had a lovely warm welcome to the cottage.. a generous welcome pack of bread butter milk Yve's home made marmalade and 6 of Brenda and Wendy's eggs plus chocolate mints.. very unexpected and thoughtful.. The cottage is equipped with everything you need right down to hand soap, fairy liquid and tea towels.. The hot tub was amazing and we used it everyday.. the summerhouse is the perfect spot to watch the sunset... It's all just perfect .. very private but assistance there if you need it. Felt like we were the only people for miles as no sound apart from the birds or the sheep in the distance... Just loved it.. Please use Carl and Yve for ideas for days out they were so helpful... The cottage is furnished to a very high spec you will not be disappointed... We will be back for sure so much more to discover and I need to see that view again .. Thank you Carl and Yve you were great hosts
