Hillcrest Cottage is nestled in a superb position on the eastern fringe of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park area close to Scarborough, in a lovely little place called Broxa (Anglo Saxon for home of the Badger). Formerly an 18th century barn, it has been recently renovated, and lovingly decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard. The property is very well-equipped with everything you should require to enjoy your stay. The cottage is a perfect base for walking, cycling and enjoying the best of the area including the coast, moors, and stately homes such as Castle Howard. The North York Moors railway can take you from Pickering to Goathland and Whitby, or you can venture by car to Helmsley and York in around an hour. Castles, waterfalls, beaches, moors, forests, market towns, nature, history...this area has it all. Shop and restaurant 5 miles, pub 2 miles.
