Compact but well equipped. Tall people may find the sloping wall in bedroom restricting. Ideal location for touring with lovely beaches close by. As we had a hospital visit in Newcastle we used the bus which was very easy.

Loved our stay at High Trees Annex, spotlessly clean and modern. Alnwick Castle, Holy Island and Hartlepool all within easy reach. Mary the owner is very friendly and I can recommend the dog sitting service which she offers without hesitation, we left our dog with her and she kept us updated with photos to put us at ease as we had never left him before. If I had to make one very small criticism is there is no freezer just a small ice box in fridge but we managed for four nights. Overall a brilliant place to stay

A brand new annexe with a fully stocked kitchen/dining room, lovely bedroom and spacious modern bathroom; all areas very clean and well presented. Sole access to a small garden with comfortable chairs and table. A good selection of tourist information and leaflets and walks are available. Mary, the owner, is very helpful and able to provide local knowledge. As she is registered with the Council for dog-sitting we left our dog with her for 2 separate days so we could visit the castles which don't allow dogs to visit. We were very impressed with High Trees Annexe and would definitely stay there again.
