Lovely quiet location overlooking the Kentmere Valley yet only a short drive from the bustling towns of Kendal and Windermere.

All on first floor.

Kitchen: With electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and freezer.
Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed.

These two holiday properties (refs W43292 and W43293) are situated on the fell side overlooking the pretty Kentmere Valley and are surrounded by beautiful countryside. Adjacent to the owner’s home, the properties are set in a peaceful location and are an ideal base for walking, fell climbing, touring this unspoilt area of the National Park or just relaxing. Enjoy the beautiful ever changing scenery from the accommodation and stroll the many footpaths of this picturesque area, or for serious walkers there is the challenge of the Kentmere Horseshoe. Visit Haweswater, Troutbeck, Long Sleddale, and the whole of the Lake District can be easily reached by car. Staveley, 4 miles, has ample shopping, tea shops and pubs serving meals. Fishing permits can be bought for Kentmere and mountain bike hire is also available locally. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

A lovely holiday flat, with amazing views over the Kentmere area including from the living room's stunning picture window. Great location for walking the local fells straight from the door. You're off the beaten track, hence the lower score for local amenities, but walkers don't mind that. What they do like is a washing machine, even a shared one, so that was missed. Otherwise, the property was really comfortable, nicely furnished in a homely but still quite modern way, parking excellent (driving on first arrival a bit nerve-wracking with single-lane roads), and if the location suits you, you will love this cottage.

Well-equipped and comfortable cottage in a superb location with many walks straight from the door. The views all around are amazing and we had such a relaxing week. The nearest shops are in Staveley which also has a variety of good walks. The cottage is well placed to visit other places of interest such as Windermere, Ambleside and the Troutbeck valley which is well worth exploring.

Kentmere is a wonderful, secluded valley and there are numerous walks you can do from the doorstep. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped (apart from the lack of a washing machine or dryer which may be an issue in a wet week) and although it's on the owner's property, it's very quiet. If you want to get away from it all this is the perfect spot. Highly recommended.
