The cottage is in a lovely location but was let down by an over grown garden. In side the kitchen sink and leaking tap needed attention. There was no micro bowls and the cooking utensils needed replacing, The oven glove was dirty and the towels for the bath/shower were worn out.

The cottage is a bit tired and could do with a bit of loving care in particular the sink unit area and draining board, also the mattress is not the most comfortable one i have slept on. But overall a very nice holiday in a superb location. (Thanks)

There are many positives to Heron's Rest (it's warm, dog friendly, in a great location, has reliable wifi), which is why we've been coming back for a number of years. Some simple improvements though would make a big difference. Please, please change the kitchen worktop - it has needed replacing for ages and now it's really unhygienic - a good joiner could have it done in a day. And the toilet brush! It was broken last time and a year later it's still the same - £1.99 for a new one. Kitchen equipment - you could get by but now I bring my own lidded saute pan and casserole dish. Some slightly bigger improvements that would make a huge difference would be a new sofa and a proper coffee table. Also, we always come for 2 weeks - the offer of clean bedding for week 2 would be nice. Hopefully my comments will be seen as constructive and I have no doubt that we'll be back again next year.
