Helvellyn House, as the name implies, was formerly a single dwelling which has latterly been converted into two apartments. This is the ground floor apartment which is an added benefit for guests with walking difficulties.
It is within 5 minutes level walk of Keswick town centre and Fitz Park and has the luxury in Keswick of a private parking space.
The property has been upgraded with replacement double glazed windows in all the rooms, in addition to full Wi-Fi coverage, comfortable leather sofas and a wide screen TV with DVD player and iPod dock.

We booked at short notice for a short break with two young children. Pros: excellent location in a quiet area, only 5 min walk to town and Fitz park, private parking, well equipped kitchen, well heated. Cons: rubbish sound proofing with next door or upstairs flat so when their TV was on it was deafening and wasn't relaxing sitting in the lounge at night. The bedrooms weren't affected by the noise though so sleep was fine. Second bedroom was tight space, kids happily climbed over the first bed to get to the one by the window, but wouldn't suit everyone. Slightly musty smell, functional decor and furniture but clean and neat enough (newly painted). Fine for a short break or to use as a base to explore the area
