1st the good points. The cottage has lovely views and ample garden space and the area is good. Now the bads points. It was dirty and very tired. We arrived and found only 2 out of the 3 beds made up not a problem really but no bedding. Eventually got the owner who dropped off some bedding for the single bed which had the dirtiest and thinnest duvet. We asked why the bath tap kept coming on and making a loud screaming noise. "It's an air trap but the plumber has covid", "just tie the tap down with string" Wow only 1 plumber in Alnwick?? We spent the week with a tap that screamed at all hours of the day and night. The cottage is in need of a very very deep clean. Had to wash the cooking utensils before using them. Paint peeling off the walls in the bedroom, a shower door that would not close fully leaving over an inch gap. Bathroom sink loose. Door onto patio so rotten it was scary and that bath tap that screamed. I would have put photos on here but it won't let me. Then to top it all off after we left on final day the owner rings me and says I've stolen a double duvet off the single bed and left a single?? I explained that it wasn't made up when we arrived and that we were only given a single duvet cover and that we didn't bring any bedding with us. He said he would ring me back and hung up. No call back, no apology. Won't be using again. There are better places for less money in a lovely area.

Homely cottage in a lovely spot with great views. Had use of the owners field for the dogs which was a great convenience. Lots of amenities within a short drive.
