We had a lovely stay surroundings lovely. We stayed on a couple of extra night's because it was so peaceful. Owner laid back and accommodating. I would return if a few changes could be made firstly a deep clean to get rid of ant problem in hall and kitchen pretty bad. Secondly the bed in double room is a bit lumpy and hard. Thirdly need a couple of more pillows in double room and finally a good high dusting of walls stonework and beams to get rid of spiders webs as this could put people off. We made the most of the break as we hadn't had one since late last year. It is a lovely barn conversion and dogs loved the outdoors so peaceful and quiet. Has everything you need even a child gate to stop dogs getting upstairs. Brampton is a short drive away for spar, co op, pharmacy great wee fruit and veg shop that gives you brown paper bags to put your items in. Great gin selection at Howard Hotel. A drive to l9ngtown you can catch the hidden river cabins cafe which serves great good staff friendly.

Lovely, spacious accommodation with everything we needed. Nice touches such as the welcome pack on arrival, including a very nice bottle of wine. Secluded yet with easy access to local amenities. Perfectly located for exploring Hadrian’s Wall and many museums in the area. Great if you have a dog as beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Wonderful tearoom close by at Lanercost Priory.

We had a really restful holiday. The owner had provided lots of 'goodies' like tea, coffee, biscuits, wood and firelights for the log fire. The bedding was clean and crisp, bath towels and hand towels were provided and there was plenty of hot water in the downstairs bathroom - even a heated towel rail. Sorry the photos are on my wife's phone who is out !
