Hawthorne House is a welcoming, detached house for friends and families of all generations or for that special get-together, sleeping eight people. The rooms are well proportioned and you can relax in the conservatory after a day out. The living room even offers a opti-myst decorative fire, often mistaken for the real thing, but in fact gives off no heat. A gentle 15-minute walk will bring you to the centre of Amble where you will find all the amenities you need for a great family holiday. This friendly seaside village boasts a working harbour, small beach, lovely beach huts and a variety of cafes and eateries. The harbour area has been redeveloped and now houses a few fish restaurants and small pod style shops. Boat trips can also be taken from here and the very popular Sunday market is a real treat with butcher, fishmongers, fruit and lots of other stalls. The small beach is ideal for the younger ones and you may wish to take a little beach hut to add to the novelty at a modest price. The town also has a popular ice cream shop with a large choice of ices and sundaes situated on the harbour near a very popular fish and chip shop. The views on a clear day are lovely over to Warkworth Castle and you can walk all the way along the main road to the picture postcard village of Warkworth. Further along the coast you will be in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Heritage Coastline which is perfect for walking, cycling or adventure seeking or simply sightseeing the magnificent stretches of golden sandy beaches and castles spread along the coastline. Alnwick Castle is 10 miles away and makes a great day out for all age groups, famed for the scenes used in the Harry Potter films. The east coast train stops just a few miles away at Alnmouth where you can enjoy a great day out in Edinburgh, York, Durham or Newcastle. Amble is called “The friendliest port” and you are sure to receive a warm and friendly welcome from the locals. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
