Harwood Dale Cottage is a joy to stay in. The attention to detail by the owners is second to none. The welcome treats were very much appreciated. Everything was thought of, and all amenities were presented in a helpful and thoughtful fashion. The upside down nature of the cottage makes great use of the view from the living room patio windows so if you prefer to stay in you have a light room with a lovely view, overlooking the garden. (The dark wood furniture is now replaced with light modern pieces, giving great look in the living room!) Kendal itself has a lovely vibe and we would recommend it as a base for exploring the lakes.

We found the cottage to be very clean and well equipped, and within an easy 20 min walk to the centre of Kendal, it is conveniently located. The garden to the rear is lovely and peaceful; also there was no traffic noise from the bedrooms at night as the cottage is located down a private lane. We enjoyed our short stay in Kendal very much.

Had a very enjoyable 4 night stay at Harwood Dale Cottage. Very clean and comfy with more than enough equipment in the kitchen for our needs. Didn’t get chance to use the well maintained garden but looks a lovely spot to sit out in the peace and quiet. Had a quick show around from Sheila then left in private but very close for any issues (which we didn’t) and a lovely touch with the welcome pack left for us. Kendal’s traffic seemed very busy but soon got used to the one way system in the town centre. Escaped with only one very very wet day! Stephen & Karon - September 2022
