This lovely little old house is set in a tiny, friendly community up a long tarmac lane. The house itself has a good kitchen and dinning area, a comfortable lounge, the bedroom we used was a good size and the bed comfortable, the bathroom has a powershower over the bath, there are electric heaters. We didn't get charged any extra for electricity, so we can't have used too much! The surrounding countryside is beautifully and good walking country.

We had a good relaxing week with reasonable weather. The key holder and neighbours were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of places to visit nearby. We enjoyed Clitheroe and the castle, Skipton castle and Towneley Park. Also good shopping at the Boundary Mill and Oswaldtwistle Mill.

We had a very pleasant stay in this comfortable cottage. A warm welcome awaited us on arrival with a much appreciated welcome pack. The owner was very knowledgeable about the local area for walking and meals out. The cottage was ideal for us, with everything we needed. Home from home! Beautiful location, fantastic weather. The adjoining garden with lovely big table provided a good place for our BBQ. We will be back!!!

Property (converted barn ) unsuitable for purpose. Very cold, with evidence of residual damp. Inadequate heating (convectors) resulting in additional cost of £48.50, for 10 days! Dirty cutlery & crockery, congealed food & dead creatures. 4 missing light bulbs, only 1 replaced. Electric iron lead, taped in 2 places! No torch/candles for emergency. Cobwebs throughout + signs of damp on various walls, evidence of dampness on some artwork. Settee had collapsed springs in mid base, dirty cushions & broken zip. Bathroom unfit for purpose, too small. Towel heater caused burns, when washing, toilet seat split, causing injury to both. No kitchen soap. Used washcloth & stainless steel scouring balls. Marked reluctance for owner's team to accept any responsibility

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for you feedback. We were surprised to see such a low score when previous and recent scores have scored 9 or 10 and guests have had a pleasant stay whilst visiting Harrop Fold Cottages. The property is not a converted barn. During the time of your visit unfortunately the weather conditions were colder which is out of our control. During your stay we did offer more heaters which were declined. We apologised for a bulb missing which was broken by a previous guest which has now been replaced. The property is cleaned by a cleaner and offers a very high standard in their work. During the guest's stay there was unfortunately a power cut for 2 hours of which a torch was provided and a battery operated light. The settee has recently been replaced. The bathroom is as shown in the pictures. We supply new cloths and products in the property.
