There are scenic drives, walks and cycling routes on quiet roads, and an equestrian centre, golf, birdlife and nature walks with the Scottish Borders, Dumfries and Galloway and the Ayrshire coast all an enjoyable day out. Lanark is less than 5 miles drive with shops, pubs and restaurant or take the bus from the gate, ideal for an evening out.
