Hall Farm Cottage is a detached 500 year old barn conversion with uninterrupted country views, where couples can enjoy quiet and seclusion on the private patio or in the hot tub. Byers Green is situated within 15 minutes’ drive of both the historic city of Durham with its mainline rail link, and Bishop Auckland, home of the Prince Bishops at Auckland Castle. The site has no through traffic and is a rich haven for birds and wildlife, with country walks from the door, fishing on the River Wear (permits available) and cycle tracks. This is the gateway to the Durham Dales, Weardale and Teesdale, with splendour at Raby Castle and Bowes Museum, industrial heritage at Killhope, Beamish and Shildon. Visit Keilder Water, Hadrians Wall, the Northumberland Coast and the Lake District. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

We loved Hall Farm Cottage and have already booked to return next year. It is so peaceful and relaxing plus it has everything you need. The towels and robes are of very high quality which you don't get in many places and the hot tub is an added bonus at the end of each day. The village is quiet and does not have a shop but there are lots of stores within a short drive - the only reason for the lower score on local amenities. If you are looking for excellent accommodation in peaceful surroundings then this cottage is for you.

The sofa and broken bar stool were uncomfortable and it was disappointing to find the local pub mentioned in the description was closed. Having said that, the cottage is peaceful and charming and the hot tub was very welcoming after a long walk. Can highly recommend The Top House as somewhere nearby to eat.

An absolutely superb cottage, everything thought of and we loved being in a hay meadow in the hot tub. Definitely recommend
