Lovely location with walks into the countryside from the front door. Bungalow was a little tired and would benefit from updating. Great place to base ourselves to meet friends & family from the local area.

Very nice cottage in a lovely location. Nice and warm. Chairs in lounge a bit uncomfortable after a while but otherwise bungalow was very nice. Nicely decorated for Christmas/New Year

One of the most stunning properties we have every stayed in. Fabulous and stunning views overlooking lovely farm land in a quiet location - just the thing required to get away from the horrible rat-race of London life! A very well appointed cottage with all amenities, including a washing machine and dryer!

Altho this bungalow had superb views and a brilliant location. We were not impressed with how the garden seemed to be a walk through for dog walkers! I was standing at kitchen window in pj's several mornings and people with digs were cutting thru a gap in back garden and walking thru garden and down drive! I was v shocked by this as it isn't stated in description it is a public walk thru!? If it was we wudnt have booked it! We have 3 young children and don't find this safe for them to be playing in garden with strangers walking thru! Plus out dog wasn't impressed! Your description actually states it stand in it's 'own'grounds?! I would not describe it as modern either with old tired sardines and drawers, one of which fell off when opening it and knob fell off in other room when opening drawer!( not great first impression) It could be a lovely holiday bungalow if a little bit tlc was shown to it. Yes it had a back door to garden but we had no key for this either? There was also a smell of damp, particularly in twin bedroom when heater was on, we discovered in corner of bedroom that damp had been covered up with paint! U cud see as it was a diffetent type and it showed! This is not great with 2 asthma sufferers in the bungalow! We couldn't contact the owner prior to arriving as no one answered the phone or returned our answer phone messages. We got a little list on arrival and phone number again, still no answer! There is a mobile number we found in a folder later in the hol, however this number not on the confirmation details we received. Luckily we asked some locals and found it and bungalow was open! We didn't see or hear from owner whilst there. We won't book again as garden is not enclosed for small children or dogs and is on a road! Plus the walk thru issue.

Good location, plenty to do in the area and good local walks. Some of the rooms in the bungalow require updating.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; In this small country village we are lucky enough to have a pub open 7 days a week serving excellent food, a deli open from 8 til 4pm every day except Mondays, a free lending library in the old telephone kiosk, a church open every day including coffee morning on Mondays and a sports field. Other amenities are within 4 miles and we are surrounded by footpaths and woodland. The bungalow accommodation is 1950s and the decor is retro in keeping with the age of the property.
