In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

Ideal location for a family wanting to discover south Devon and explore Dartmoor, Torbay and Brixham.

With views of the sea as you approach this holiday property, Halfway House is a 17th-century former public house which has been tastefully decorated and furnished offering spacious accommodation. This semi-detached holiday property has views across Torbay from the upstairs landing, from the rear of the property downstairs, and from the garden. Close by are the Napoleonic forts which are now part of the Berry Head Nature Reserve and can be visited at any time. The North Fort has a coastguard lookout station and an underground Cold War Royal Observer Corps Post located within its grounds. Berry Head Nature Reserve is also home to a colony of greater horseshoe bats. Shoalstone outdoor saltwater pool, ¼ mile away, is an Art Deco icon of the south Devon coastline. This is a popular destination with walkers, day-trippers, fishermen, rock-climbers, naturalists and historians, making it one of Torbay’s top ten most visited attractions. Take a ferry to Torquay with its bustling shops, bistros, cafés and the coastal zoo, or a boat trip to maritime Dartmouth, where you can ride on the Dartmouth steam railway or take a leisurely cruise along the River Dart. Visit Greenway House and Gardens, Agatha Christie’s stately home, and Dartmoor, with its tors and quaint villages. Fine golf courses are a short drive. Beach ¼ mile. Shop 800 yards, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Lovely cottage. Well equipped with everything we needed. Lovely walk down to Brixham with a short, steep hill down and then flat along to the harbour. Close to the berry head hotel which was lovely for a drink in the evening. We stayed with our 6 month old and found it a very good location as easy to walk to Brixham and lots of lovely attractions and towns nearby.

We have just returned from a week at Halfway House the weather was fantastic. The cottage is in a really peaceful neighbourhood and near the Berry Head Hotel. The public footpath just across the road leads to the Hotel, which has a superb brasserie which has a looks onto a wonderful view of the ocean with access to a large terrace. The local Coop shop offers a wide range of goods which is only a few minutes drive away. There are two bus stops just outside the cottage going to the harbour (modest charge) or the town. Our daughter who is currently training for a twin Peak Challenge was able to go on a number of long walks

Needs wireless internet access and a dishwasher. Kitchen utensils and saucepans need updating and renewing. Clothes airier is dangerous and held together by tape (I thought this had been replaced - according to previous feedback). If you don't mind the hill, then the location is good for Brixham, which is very friendly and enjoyable.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Very surprised at scores and comments as most people state the cottage has exceeded their expectations. Wi-Fi and the dishwasher are to be added in the future. Utility items i.e. saucepans, cutlery, drier are renewed very frequently. Local amenities are superb, this is a beautiful fishing town with Art Deco Tidal Pool, fantastic walks and opportunities to enjoy a diverse and interesting holiday, with so much to do in the very near vicinity.

Had a very enjoyable time at the cottage, exceeded our expectations very well laid out and roomy the bedrooms were easily large enough for our requirements we were 4 adults 1 infant and a baby. The garden is fantastic and our 2 year old grand son loved it. There were a couple of problems the clothes airer in the garden is rusted and not fit for use and did in fact close down and trapped our grandsons finger causing quite bad bruising and the washing machine did not work i advised the owner who said he would get these things sorted. There is a very steep hill if walking into Brixham but buses are very frequent and stop right outside the cottage. over all a lovely time and comfortable cottage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your positive comments, pleased to hear the cottage exceeded your expectations. We would advise that there is now a brand new washing machine and line for use at the cottage.
