Riverside chalet overlooking river, close to sandy beach, trout fishing, riding and windsurfing locally, Holyhead Breakwater Country Park nearby.

300 yards from a sandy beach

This detached riverside holiday chalet, whose exterior does not do justice to the well equipped interior, has open views across common land and sand dunes to the mountains of Snowdonia in the distance. Overlooking the river where it meets the sea on the edge of this seaside village, it is 300 yards from a sandy beach, with another huge sandy beach half a mile away, and is on the coastal heritage walk along the rocky coastline to Church in the Sea. Trout fishing, golf, riding and a windsurfing school are all within 3 miles. Other attractions on and around the Isle of Anglesey include Holyhead Breakwater Country Park, a walker’s paradise, Henblas Country Park and Anglesey Circuit, Trac Môn, a fully licensed racing circuit. Shops and pub 50 yards, restaurant 3 miles.

We had a wonderful week, the cottage was ideal for us everything we needed was there and it was very comfy the view out was exceptional across the field of cows to the mountains of Snowdonia, and the sunrises were spectacular, a perfect place to explore all of Angelsey and beyond.

The location was fantastic straight out the door and onto the beach. Aberffraw is a lovely escape and fantastic for walks with very friendly people. The accommodation was just a little small for us but excellent value for money, we just like to spread out a bit and have an enclosed garden so the dog can wander out when she wants without us having to go with her. Thanks for a lovely stay

Although this is a beautiful location, there were disappointing shortcomings with the accommodation especially because this was a "dog friendly" cottage. We were fortunate to have a dry week, but in a wet week the heating would have been insufficient to handle wet clothes and dogs. This was confirmed by the excessive black mould on the walls throughout. The lack of internet is acceptable provided there is plenty of information in the cottage; sadly this was not the case. The garden was as described, but not enclosed, and while we were there the drive was being relaid, which was hazardous and noisy in this otherwise peaceful place. The bathroom was poorly equipped without even a clothes hook or available flat surface. The owner was very apologetic, and put a little extra cash on the electricity meter, but this did not resolve any of the shortcomings.
