Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Delightful, detached bungalow with sea views and games room, ideal for larger groups of family and friends, Beaumaris nearby.

Sea views

This detached bungalow plus additional annexe sleeping 2, only 20 yards from the sea, looks out over the rugged coastline of Trearddur Bay with magnificent views out to sea from the living room, dining room, master bedroom, large games room and the large balcony in the annexe. The games room in the annexe has a seating/TV area, table football and pool table (slate bed). The gardens to the front and rear are good sized and there is enough driveway space for a boat. There are many coastal walks around the area (including some on the doorstep). The beach only 20 yards from the property is great for rock pooling. Trearddur Bay’s Blue Flag beach is just around the corner (300 yards), as well as many water sports, including a diving school based in Trearddur Bay. There is also a golf course and stables close by, as well as sea fishing. Take a trip around the island and see many beaches and places of interest such as Plas Newydd and Beaumaris with its castle. There is the rugged terrain of Snowdonia to explore, and Ireland is not that far; why not take a day trip to Dublin. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

The cottage was very comfortable with all the amenities for a large family. In a very convenient spot, very close to the main Treaddur Bay beach. We have already booked for next year!

The location was great and the house had everything we needed but was showing some age and the grass needed cutting. We also couldn't turn the heating off in the game room/bedroom. We would come back and would recommend the house.

The property is in lovely location. It’s a good size property but needs a lot of attention to bring up to standard for the price charged. It is also in need of a thorough cleanup:

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are sorry that you experienced issues with our property. Our property managers are always keen to ensure our house is cleaned well and made to make our guests feel very welcome. As they didn’t receive any contact from you during your stay, they were unfortunately unable to assist with any issues you had. Unfortunately, things do go wrong or break occasionally, but we would always recommend that our guests contact our property manager and they will do their utmost to assist you wherever possible.

A lovely house and location. The only negative was the dog could escape the garden so had to be extra careful .

Excellent location, couldn't fault the cottage itself for the most part. Clean, inviting and comfortable on the whole with a lovely welcome basket. But there are some issues with the wear and tear of some things. The bathroom light broke and we had to fix it, the shower, beds and sofa grate after a while. The oven needs pre-heating for a good 40 mins before it cooks on around 120° which isn't suitable for a large family really. And for a cottage with dogs, put a gate on! That said, we would go back.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. A fence and gates have now been installed, so that the back garden is now enclosed.

We all (8 plus 2 dogs)had a most enjoyable stay in this lovely house situated just over the road from beaches, rocky coves and lovely sea views. The house was very well equipped and much use was made of all the facilities including the games room. The only downsides from our point of view is that there are no gates/fences to stop dogs getting from the back garden out onto the road. Secondly some of the rooms are in need of redecoration but this fact did not detract from our enjoyment. Overall we would recommend Gwelfor to anyone looking for a little lovely place to stay. The local eateries The Sea Shanty, The Black Seal and The White Eagle pub were all visited and were all excellent. Thanks for a lovely week.

Just needed the garden to be dog safe. We couldn't let her off the lead which was a shame as she loved the garden

Perfect location in lovely grounds. The property was spacious, good kitchen with all appliances plus washer and dryer. We had young children with us and unfortunately we found the steps to the back garden and to the first floor very steep. Ideal for our older boy with the games room!
