Although nicely converted there are a few things that can be done to improve the cottage. The kitchen could do with an update. One of the sofas needs the seat repairing and the beds need renewing. Although happy with it being on a farm the cow shed is literally over the garden wall so we spent most of the week fighting the invasion of flies. When it was mentioned to the caretaker he wasn't interested. All it would have taken was a fly screen at the door! Grassington nearby is lovely.

A good cottage with excellent privacy and enclosed lawned area. Let down by general location being in a hollow with no views from the property. The adjoining farm and 'farm house' have three Jack Russels which bark continuously and are disturbing from 4am onwards. That aside a good cottage in an interesting location and good for walkers

The cottage was extremely comfortable. The kitchen isn't very well equiped and could do with more utensils The beds were fine but there are dogs nearby that bark all night! Overall though we had a good holiday.

If you love walking then this cottage is ideal as you can walk from it across the fields to The Old Hall at Thresfield or a bit further to The Fountain at Linton. Also brilliant for dogs as they can't escape. We had a brilliant long weekend and the weather was lovely too.

The cottage on the whole was very satisfactory. We have stayed before in the other two on this site. The big barn was excellent but as there was only four of us this time it was far too big. The only complaint we had this time was the bedding. The sheets did not fit the beds and looked quite old and washed out. There were also cobwebs round the light fittings and on the window ledges.

Lovely cottage with comfortable beds. Could be improved by having some empty cupboards in the kitchen for food storage, an extra shelf for the oven and the missing shelves in the fridge replaced. Definite lack of space for storing food with 6 people staying. The can opener did not work so we had to buy one!

Great welcome - the host had left home made biscuits, milk in the fridge & ice in the freezer. Great to be able to book adjacent properties for a larger group gathering. Lovely location for a walking break. Would happily book here again

Beautiful, well equipped cottage. All on 1 level for the less mobile. 3 bathrooms ideal after days out walking, and perfect secure garden for the dog/kids. So many walks and attractions within 45 mins drive. Linton falls and Grassington a stone's throw away. Highly recommend this cottage and local Black Horse Inn for food. Farmer was round to clear snow/ice from paths at early doors. Already thinking to rebook :-).

I struggle to understand some of the negative reviews on this cottage. It was good value with good facilities. We have not been to this part of Yorkshire before but the cottage was a great base for exploring. The weather when we stayed was very poor but the cottage was warm and cosy and we had to turn down the thermostat to stop ourselves from roasting. Thank you for the welcome plate of biscuits and jug of fresh cow milk and also for a lovely stay.

Only one issue - electrical goods probably too up market and complicated. In particular the washer/dryer. Washer fine but seemed to be impossible to stop dryer and check clothes. We have had several washer/dryers at home and they all had separate washer and dryer controls. Looked through instructions but not so easy as given. In the end we gave up with dryer and managed to dry on clothes horse. Otherwise beautiful place - would definitely book again. Great place if you wanted to book other cottages for family gathering. Lovely holiday highly recommended.

This cottage has had its day unless some fundamental things are changed and updated. One of the major issues is how dirty the cottage is. The bathroom is filthy and even after taking a bath you do not feel clean. There is nowhere to hang your towels as the radiator is so rusty if you put anything on it, it comes off with rust on it. There are no cleaning products so even if you wanted to clean the cottage you can’t unless you go and purchase products from a shop. The bedrooms smell damp. The curtains are very thin and because the other cottages don’t or can’t turn the outside lights off over-night, the light shines directly into the bedroom. There is not 1 single cupboard to put groceries and so we had to keep a weeks’ worth of shopping in one of the bedrooms. The back of the oven falls off if you are not careful exposing the fan and elements. The fridge froze some of the food so had to be thrown away. The garden is the best part of this property but don’t leave the door open as because the cottage is on a working farm there are lots of mice running around.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I have addressed all the issues. The radiator has been sprayed, the fridge upon inspection was the hinge the door may not have been shut properly. There isnt any mice, our previous guest has given a good review. I don't understand how the cottage was dirty as it has a thorough clean after every visit.
