The Cartshed was lovely, its remote, but 10 mins drive from the towns, so if you want to get away from the crowds then this is your place. Ideal location for all things Hadrian, just perfect. Met the owners, lovely people and the welcome is what you would expect in Northumberland loved it

We had a lovely week in Northumberland. The cottage is quite remote so we used the car a lot as we were. Group of mixed ages so not geared up for footpath walking. However we still did a great amount of walking. Very convenient to visit the historical sites relating to the Romans & Hadrian’s Wall. Owners were very friendly. We would definitely recommend this.

We loved the cartshed and it’s location, enjoying the views of the countryside, watching the ducks and other farm animals. Our only reservation would be that, as a group of six adults, we could have done with slightly more mugs and other crockery/ kitchen equipment. It may be designed more for one/two family/ies with children, than 3 couples - all adults. Nevertheless we had a great and comfortable holiday.
