Amazing little find. All the small things like underfloor heating and the hot tub being piping hot for when we got there. Mike you are a ledge ashame we didn’t get to meet Karen but hopefully the next stay we will. Surroundings were amazing couldn’t fault it overall. Honestly take a chance on the pigsty, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed x

The Pig Sty is a lovely cottage. Mike and Karen made us feel very welcome, they are such a lovely hosts. The cottage itself is very cosy and spacious. Perfect for family holiday. Our puppy loved the space outside to run after his ball and our kids didn't want to go back home. The local pub (Peacock Inn) is perfect for relaxing after long walks, they have a playground for children and quite a big outside area which is only 5mins walk from the cottage, they also make the best hot chocolate! We are already planning to stay again in the future.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at Green Farm, in the Pig Sty. We arrived during storm Dennis but it didn’t dampen the spirits as the house was gorgeous, clean, well equipped, the beds were comfy, the showers powerful and hot and the owners were delightful. They were so helpful and generous during the storm and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a lovely time. We managed to get out and explore the area. It’s in a great location for Matlock where we went to Heights of Abraham (worth a visit), chatsworth house, the village of bakewell (if you like Bakewell tarts- you need to go here, a beautiful town too!), Eyam and we also went into sheffield, too. All of which were easy to get to via quiet country lanes- definitely a scenic place. The cottage itself was very comfy and cosy, especially with the log fire burning away and the hot tub had a gorgeous view in a private space behind the houses overlooking miles of fields. Small touches like leaving plastic prosecco glasses for the hot tub were really appreciated. We can’t wait to visit again!

This was our third visit to the Pig Sty and it was under new ownership. Some great improvements from when we’d last been over a year ago! Better access to the cottage with the driveway being properly gravelled and the dogs also had use of a fenced off field which they didn’t have before. Inside the sofas have been replaced and the set up is so much better. The mirrors in the bathroom and en-suite need to be replaced - they are too small and too high up for those of us who are a little on the smaller size to be able to see into them. If the new owners could replace them it would be so appreciated! We love this cottage and will definitely return again!

Our second stay at The Pigsty and we had another lovely time. The children (and us!) love the outside hot tub it is so nice to relax in, is very private and the countryside outlook so nice. We love the cottage location, just outside the National Park area and set in a peaceful and rural location. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The owners, Karen and Mike, are so lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Thanks for a wonderful stay and we hope to be back in the future.
