We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday in this lovely, cosy cottage. The cottage had everything we needed, was in a fabulous peaceful location with easy access to the coast, North Yorkshire moors and in land to Thirsk. I would highly recommend, we will definitely be going back in the future.

Most wonderful holiday in a comfortable homely cottage. The idyllic location of the cottage cannot be described with words, you need to visit it to experience the peace and quiet. A perfect base for exploring the coast or North York Moors.

Wheatsheaf cottage was exactly what we wanted. It was very clean and welcoming when we arrived after a long journey from the south of England. There was cake tea coffee and milk already there for us ,which was a much appreciated gesture. The cottage was one of the best equipped cottages we have used.It is out in the countryside so if anybody wanted all the amenities of a resort this is not for you,but for us it was ideal . Very peaceful, with lots of wildlife on your doorstep.Listen for the owls calling to each other in the evenings and watch the large flock of pheasants that visited every morning. The owners Rob and Emma were on hand if they were needed, which they weren't.This was a very enjoyable holiday and we intend to use this cottage again in the future

Lovely cottage is rural location. The owners live on site and are available if there is a problem but are unobtrusive. Lovely forest walks on the doorstep but the seaside is easily accessible by car at Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and Bridlington. Also visited Goathland and walked along the railway trail to Grosmont, returning on the North Yorkshire Moors Historical Steam Railway. The cottage has a well stocked kitchen, good internet connection and is warm and cosy. We chose it because it was also dog-friendly and the nearby walks were brilliant. We did our food shopping when we were in the local towns so didn't use local facilities.

We wanted somewhere to relax & chill, that was pet friendly. This property ticked all the boxes. If you want to be in the centre of things, this is not for you but if you want a quiet, relaxing location to just unwind. This is the perfect spot. Obviously you need your own transport but with transport you are in a great location. Friendly and helpful owners and whitby, scarborough & bridlington all in easy driving distance. Do yourself a favour & book your retreat here!

Stayed in one of the two storey cottages before, this one level now suits our needs better. New owners since November and greeted us on arrival outside, welcome tea tray with cake and flowers on the table. Comfortable and room for two with a dog. Well equiped and peaceful lovely grounds plus very close area for dog walking. Well placed for near coast and dale outings. We found a variety of dog friendly Inns pubs and cafes with in and outside seating
