Just a short walk from the cottage, visitors can explore the Achmore Stone Circle, a partially preserved prehistoric site nestled in the peat moorland, offering a glimpse into the island’s ancient past. For beach enthusiasts, the Isle of Lewis boasts some of Scotland’s most stunning coastal landscapes. Tràigh Mhòr, near Tolsta, is a mile-long beach renowned for its dramatic waves and scenic cliffs, making it a popular spot for walking and surfing . Uig Sands offers expansive golden sands and is notable as the discovery site of the famous Lewis Chessmen. Luskentyre Beach, on the nearby Isle of Harris, is celebrated for its pristine white sands and turquoise waters, often likened to Caribbean shores.
