What really sets The Cowshed apart is how it sits within its surroundings. Geufron Farm is tucked into the softer, less crowded southern hills of Eryri, where the landscape feels open and unrushed. From the gate, walks lead straight out across fields and lanes, ideal for early dog walks or stretching your legs before breakfast. A short stroll brings you to the local pub, a proper village spot where muddy boots are normal and dogs are greeted as warmly as people. There’s also a shared dog play field.
The coast is close enough to dip in and out of without planning a full day around it. Tywyn’s long sandy beach is perfect for wide open walks and winter skies, while Aberdyfi offers a quieter mix of estuary views, cafés and gentle wandering. Head inland and you’ll find Dolgellau’s independent shops and the Mawddach Trail, a flat, scenic route that suits cyclists, walkers and anyone who prefers to take things at an easy pace. Further along, Barmouth’s dramatic meeting of sea and mountains makes for a memorable afternoon, especially as the light starts to change.
Staying at The Cowshed isn’t about ticking off sights but about having the freedom to choose. Busy days exploring or slow days close to home both feel equally right, with the farm always offering a calm place to come back to.
And if you need even more space, there are 5 other holidays homes on the farm which when combined can sleep up to 22 adults & 2 children.
