Delightfully set in the grounds of the owner’s home, it is furnished with antique pine and has great charm and character. Shops, restaurants, bars, leisure centre, canal and a railway station with regular 20-minute links to Edinburgh can all be found within a few hundred yards. Many places of interest in the Forth area, including famous golf courses, outlet shopping, Falkirk Wheel, country parks and Stirling Castle (20 minutes by car). Convenient for Edinburgh, Glasgow and southern Scotland. Cosily heated, this property is ideal for holidays at any time of the year. Shops 100 yards.

    Great cottage. Very private. Next to all amenities. Walk to palace and loch. Perfect.

    A really great little place. It was absolutely perfect for exploring the surrounding areas as there was parking on site but the train station was an easy 10 minute walk away with very regular trains to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Various supermarkets were all within 10 minute drive. The cottage itself was lovely, although there didn't look to be any disabled access but this wasn't a problem for us. Bedrooms are downstairs with the master having a very nice outlook into the garden which would be lovely in nicer weather. The kitchen/dining/living area upstairs was spacious enough for the two of us and had everything we needed for the duration of our stay. Unfortunately, our hosts weren't able to be around during our stay but they were still in touch and we knew we could contact them if we needed anything.

    For us very difficult to find the cottage. 45 mn Bedroom to small, bed to small 140cm , bathroom small and not comfortable Price too high compare with the comfort Don't recommand this place

    Response on behalf of the Owner; We are concerned to read that your 2-night stay at Garden Cottage did not meet your expectations. As you will see from the majority of reviews, you have not enjoyed the usual experience of our visitors - we take your comments very seriously and address them as follows. Finding the cottage - when you did not contact us to advise us of your likely arrival time, we telephoned you in France and then emailed you fully detailed written instructions on how to find the cottage and the keys to gain access. Previous visitors have not advised us that they had any difficulty finding the cottage. The description and photographs of the cottage and its accommodation on the booking website show the modest scale and size of the accommodation. The bedroom is described as a double - had you required anything larger, then we suggest that you should have specified a queen or king size bed when searching for a suitable cottage. The bathroom is not large, but is perfectly functional. Price and value for money - in High Season, and at the height of the Edinburgh Festival, we would suggest that your stay for 2 nights in a two bedroom self-contained accommodation with the parking and facilities offered by Garden Cottage was competitively priced. We are sorry that your conclusion is that you ‘don’t recommend this place’ - fortunately, many others do thoroughly enjoy their stay in Garden Cottage, and its central location for visiting the many attractions of Central Scotland, often with return visits.

    Excelent cottage for a relaxed stay and being close to Edingburg, Glasgow and Stirling. Small walk to the trainstation and within half an hour your in the cities. Ticket is much cheaper than paying terrible expensive parking fee in the city. Linlithgow itselves is also beautiful and worth visiting.

    A thoughtfully-designed and well-executed conversion of a former stable block. Upper floor living area is airy, light and comfortably furnished. Decor and fittings throughout are of the highest standard, although freeview TV does not compare well with the cable services we have come to expect. Despite its proximity to the High Street, the location is quiet and private with a pleasant outlook. The off-street parking arrangements are adequate although our car did attract a significant amount of bird droppings. The hosts, who live in the adjacent property, were helpful and unobtrusive. The only reservation about this property is that that the access steps could be problematic for the less able.
