We spent a week in Elm, four adults and two dogs and had a great time and would definitely use Friesian Valley Cottages again. The owners are friendly and unobtrusive and the Cornish pastie recommendation was excellent! The nearby beaches are great for dogs (particularly Holywell Bay) and Redruth provided us with easily accessible supplies.

Lovely little cottage hidden away with an enclosed shared garden, which was great for my 1 and 3 year olds to explore whilst I had a brew at the outdoor table and share our findings with other holiday makers. Local Aldi an Tesco a short drive away and many many beaches!! So we were out all day and on the evening when the girls were in bed (we tried to put them in the same room but luckily the hall way was large enough to put the travel cot on the 3rd night we finally all slept!! Little monkeys keeping each other awake) we were able to watch tv and dvds. Kitchen well equipped, and overall the cottage is bigger than my first home lol :)

the cottage complex was very pleasant well kept and clean and tidy. we did find it a little a difficult to find as there are not many signpost indicating the village and the sign to the village was very overgrown

Mattress was rubbish we had to leave two days early as we couldnt get any sleep. The pillows were also very soft and gave us a neck ache. The television was to small, and we couldnt adjust the contrast on it, as in places it was very black. We also found the bedroom was very small, and we kept banging our leg on the end of the bed.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We had spoken to the customers on a number of occasions during their stay and asked if everything was okay and the reply was always yes thank you. If the T.V needed adjusting we would have been happy to help. If extra pillows were needed we would have been happy to help, we just needed to be asked. When we were told they were uncomfortable on the mattress (as they were leaving) we offered to change it but they declined. We had not been alerted to any such problems by the previous guests. There's no need to suffer in silence, if there is a problem as we will always try to make our holiday makers as comfortable as possible. Yes the bedrooms are quite small as shown in the photographs on the website and so should probably not have been a surprise. Regarding the local amenities, again as per the website this should not have been a surprise as we correctly advertised where the nearest ones are.
