Forest Lodge is situated in an idyllic setting in a quiet corner of the New Forest, enjoying direct forest access which is home to an abundance of wildlife. Whilst in the grounds of the owner’s home, Forest Lodge has its own parking area and pathway. This detached holiday property stands alone and is not visible from the main house. Stabling and grazing are available for 2 horses on site, with prior arrangement with the owner and there is a grassy children’s play area with football goalposts, rugby posts and other games. The New Forest National Park offers thousands of acres of moor, heath and woodlands, where ponies and cattle roam free, and is perfect for walking, cycling and riding. You may also see wild deer, foxes, badgers and rabbits. The New Forest is a genuine walker’s paradise and also a fantastic place for cycling, with miles of traffic free tracks. Farm shops, pubs, tea rooms, an excellent restaurant and a church are within 5 minutes of the property. There is a riding school nearby offering hacks across the forest for both the beginner and more experienced rider. Forest Lodge is 4 miles from the market towns of Ringwood and Fordingbridge, and 12 miles from the historic city of Salisbury, with its magnificent cathedral and tallest spire in the UK. The coastal resorts and sandy beaches of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch are approximately 15 miles away. Coarse fishing is available on the nearby River Avon. Golf courses and water sports are also nearby. Shops, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

We loved our stay and so did our three Jack Russells, the area is beautiful. The Lodge had everything we needed and in a wonderful setting. The local Farm shops were a delight to visit and so was the Forresters Pub.

We were looking for a last minute break and Forest Lodge was available. It was our first holiday with our dog. We were very happy with everything. Perfect for a complete rest. Little phone signal & no internet connection - not a problem for us but may be for others. Forest Lodge is situated in the grounds of the owners property but is very private. The owners are very approachable should you require anything. It was very peaceful, surrounded by nature in all it's glory. Some fabulous walks to be had in the area and the coast is a scenic drive away. Just perfect! We were in the lodge during May's spectacular overnight storms - what an experience! The ground soon becomes very muddy, churned up by the donkeys, ponies & cattle that roam freely very close by, so, pack your wellies & dog towels!

great place for us two and honey (labradoodle) bit muddy out of garden gate to gorley common but we took another route along vehicle track and was much cleaner, owners very friendly and offered a 12 o'clock occupancy which we could not take advantage of, fantastic arrival gift, bubbly and chockies (our 40th wedding anniversary) well placed outside water tap and hose for washing the dog and wellies. had fantastic meal at the royal oak bearing in mind it was mothers day the place was bulging but all the staff were attentive and very professional.

We had a wonderful stay at the lodge and would highly recommend it. The pictures don’t do it justice!! The location is beautiful and the hosts are on hand if needed but leave you to your privacy.

This is our second stay and we came back and booked our third one, so that says everything! The place is so peaceful and perfect for chilling out. It was extremely muddy this time and therefore we couldn’t really go out the ‘back gate’ to walk up on the moors behind, but we found other walks with the dog to do. Wellies are a must as are plenty of dog towels as you will need them. This time we had internet whilst we were there which was an added bonus. The little touches by the owners of chocolate, fizz and milk is lovely. They’re on hand should you need them, but leave you alone as well. Love this little hideaway.
